🆕 Powerful Portraits: A Photography Workshop

Step back in time and discover the art of photography through the story of Frederick Douglass, one of the most photographed people of 19th-century America. Inspired by our upcoming 'Lessons of the Hour' exhibition, this hands-on workshop explores how photography was used to shape identity, tell stories and challenge perceptions.

At Perth Creative Exchange, you'll get the chance to work on both sides of the camera, create your own self-portrait, and learn how to use a traditional wooden plate camera. You'll also be introduced to silver-based photographic processes and uncover the lasting impact these early techniques have had on photography today.
