🆕 Powerful Portraits: A Photography Workshop
Step back in time and discover the art of photography through the story of Frederick Douglass, one of the most photographed people of 19th-century America. Inspired by our upcoming 'Lessons of the Hour' exhibition, this hands-on workshop explores how photography was used to shape identity, tell stories and challenge perceptions.
At Perth Creative Exchange, you'll get the chance to work on both sides of the camera, create your own self-portrait, and learn how to use a traditional wooden plate camera. You'll also be introduced to silver-based photographic processes and uncover the lasting impact these early techniques have had on photography today.

The activation/performance is entitled ‘sHift -ING’ and, amongst other things’ is inspired with a notion of play.

From its opening last Friday 7 August at Wasps Studios Perth Creative Exchange, the beautiful Shift group exhibition continues to be open to the public weekdays 9-5pm.
All welcome!
The exhibition brings together the Meadow Mill Curatorial Panel to exhibit their work which reflects a range of artistic approaches, ideas and forms of expression.
The title Shift emerged from a discussion around movement, change and transition. It also refers to the practical shift that takes place when artists working in one Wasps studio building present their work in the gallery space of another.
Exhibiting artists are Astrid Leeson, Miriam Mallalieu, Paola McClure, Louise Ritchie, Bruce Shaw and Lada Wilson.
Within the exhibition, artist, Lada Wilson has a special performance scheduled on 20th August, commencing from 5.30pm.
All welcome.
