It’s with much sadness we announce that we will have to hit pause on Petit Pas as a business.

The smoke damage at the end of January, wiped out the stores entire inventory, which was soul destroying.

Add to this already existing buildings issues relating to water ingress and damp- we had been trying hard with little success to ensure these issues had been resolved.

Meaning post smoke damage, reopening in our current store just wasn’t looking like an option.

We are still a young business, factoring all costs into the equation, buying ourselves out a lease, moving costs, rates, significantly increased stock costs we feel it’s just not currently viable, or sensible to do so.

All customers with outstanding vouchers or credits, please rest assured we will be in touch to refund these.

I can’t thank the team and our community of customers for the last two years enough 🩷

Our suppliers have been fantastically supportive, thank you for your understanding.

Mags, Catriona and Ciara, your hard work and commitment has been amazing, I’m just so sad we find ourselves in this position.

Our customers, thank you so much for your loyalty, we are so grateful. We can’t believe the growing customer data base we’ve managed to build.

We’ve loved every minute of it and I know the team took great pleasure and pride in providing you all with their first shoes, toddlers shoes, school shoes and every other precious pair of shoes they’ve fitted.

I need to say a very special thanks to Mags, in my opinion, Mags is the most fantastic childrens shoe fitter and she truly loved what she did, making babies, children, as well as parents at ease- and did her job so incredibly well 🩷

We don’t want to pause, but unfortunately the stresses of recent times have taken its toll on me, we’ve seen very positive growth in year two, but too many unforeseen challenges we can’t control- so if anyone might be interested in taking on the name, customer base and any fixtures and fittings, we would be happy to discuss this.

The biggest asset is a wonderful manager and staff who have got to know the children’s shoe game so very, very well.

Who knows what the future holds, but we need time to reflect.

Afternoon!

Little update for you all- unfortunately all our our stock is smoke damaged and we quite literally have nothing to sell, we’ve new stock pending but due to the smoke damage the shop requires an industrial level clean and treatment ( we can’t store any new stock in the shop)

So long and short, we’ve no stock to sell and we don’t have a shop we can sell any shoes from.

The insurance company have acted promptly, however it’s realistically looking like it will be an estimated 8 weeks before everything can be addressed and potentially open the doors again.

Thanks for your kind words and understanding, we really are grateful- it’s not how we expected the week to start and it’s hard to believe the impact this has caused, given the fire didn’t occur in our store- any questions please do contact us and we will do our best to get back to you in a timely fashion 💜

Deep breath!

Today has not been a good day for us.

Unfortunately it looks like we won’t be able to open tomorrow, due to considerable smoke damage to our entire inventory of stock.

The proximity of our store and the layout has meant that the smoke from the fire next door has penetrated our entire store significantly and we have put this in the hands of our insurance company and await instruction.

We are beyond gutted and will keep you all informed and updated 😞

We’ve unfortunately been evacuated due to a fire in the neighbouring property and won’t be able to trade today.

We hope everyone is safe and we will keep you updated on when we can reopen.
