Honda Civic FK2 for Stage 2 Tuning π―π΅
Mod List:
Catback
Airtec Intercooler
Injec Intake
Itβs been a long time since we have tuned one of these as they arenβt a common car to come by but shown by the figures, not lost the touch π
Customer believed it to be stock, but running it up on the dyno, based off the dyno graph it produced and the boost pressure it was producing it was not stock!
Back to stock, now producing 1.3bar as they should, with a nice smooth linear curve all the way till redline, as a stock curve should be like.
The previous tune was decent. Slightly aggressive boost request for a stage 1 and power dropping off very early for one of these but nothing irregular
Base file loaded with slight timing adjustments with 1.65bar request, it made 402bhp.
Good starting numbers but no timing withdrawal, so once adding another 3 degrees of timing, we ended up on 412.4bhp and 541.9nm with peak power at just under 6900rpm π«£
A nice aggressive powerband on the road struggling for grip the whole of 2nd and shooting off once in 3rd.
These are wonderful to tune and sure have missed tuning these type of cars

BMW M4 in for Stage 1 Tuning
This had 144,000 miles on the clock so we always knew it was not going to make factory quoted figures and delta gains is what we were focusing on.
Huge gains in power and torque with power just climbing!
Big delta gains of 87.4bhp and 141.1nm πͺπ»
Customer also opted for some subtle crackles in sport to top the new driving experience off.
On the road this was very back end happy, pulling strong through the rev range, completely different to how it came in.

Ford Focus ST for Stage 2 Tuning
This came in for stage 2 tuning running the usual mods with 440CC injectors.
Previously running a tune but as you can see would not even finish a run before going into limp mode π€¦πΌββοΈ
Looking at the map, everything was diabolical, load maps incorrectly changed, timing maps adjusted for pops with no fuel cut off delay, wastegate values above 100% π.
We are seeing maps like these much more often now on these and it always gives us a nice laugh π
Now set up correctly, with minimal timing adjustments due to it withdrawing timing very easily, which hindered some power.
Another ST transformed to an animal on the road ππ»

VW Golf GTI MK7 for Stage 1 tuning
This had 132,000 miles but the overall condition of the car said otherwise!
Stock, it came in at a very healthy 231.7bhp and 359nm with only mod being a panel filter!
With the customer wanting crackles on sport, we had to cross flash from 259 -> 259C as the original software does not have activations and does not allow us to do crackles/pops via drive modes.
Once the base file was all wrote, we ran it up, , making 287.5bhp and 444.8nm, 1.45 bar top end to make sure the clutch can handle some extra power.
Second revision made, 306.2bhp and 476.8nm with still no timing withdrawal, slightly rich top end so a bit adjustments needed to fuel trims whilst adding some more timing.
Last and final revision, we ended up on 318.1bhp and 495.3nm. Fuel trims perfect, no timing withdrawal with 8.5 degrees timing advance top end. slowly increasing boost to 1.6bar and tapered off to 1.45bar top end ππ»
The torque curve on the final revision was stunning, holding around peak torque until 4250rpm then tapering off π€πΌ
Subtle crackles to top it off which can be turned off by going out of sport mode!
Weather was not the best on this day so traction was definitely a problem π
Once it cleared up, we received a message saying itβs mental and completely different π«‘

VW Golf 1.5TSI for Stage 1 Dyno tuning + Intake supplied and fitted
This very low mileage (19,000!) Golf came in for some extra power and some more noises!
Intake kit fitted prior to tuning to compare both stock and tuned figures with the kit fitted.
Stock coming in at 152.1bhp & 248nm with logs showing all good data.
This took 2 revisions, with more timing added on the second revision to get slightly more power, with still no timing withdrawal on logs and boost following specified perfectly.
Even though this is on 19,000 miles, with it being a manual, we thought it would be sensible to slightly cap the torque to allow for prolonged clutch life. With the DSGs, we will cap them at around 340nm on a stage 1.
Once we were all done on the dyno, we took it for the post tuning road test, and this pulled very well! So well i told Jason to take it and see what he thought!
He also thought that it pulled very well and felt quicker than what the figures were showing!
Customer will be chuffed to bits with the extra power and the intake noises as a bonus π

VW Golf MK8 1.5 eTSI (2023) β Stage 1 Tuning
Being a 2023 plate vehicle, the first step was confirming it can be tuned before strapping it to the dyno. Fortunately, this was supported.
The car produced healthy baseline figures in stock form, with no timing withdrawal, boost pressure exactly where it should be, stable fuel pressure, and fuel trims as close to 0%.
Final results were achieved with no additional ignition timing added. Peak boost reached 1.5 bar before tapering off, with zero timing correction, fuel pressure consistently meeting target values, and short-term fuel trims remaining spot on. Overall, a very healthy example ππ»
Final figures: 180.8 bhp & 337.5 Nm πͺπ»
On the road, the difference was immediately noticeable. Whether cruising or giving it some beans, the car felt significantly more refined and in tune, delivering power exactly as it should. Smooth, responsive, and with a strong linear power delivery ππΌ

Skoda Superb 2022 TDI 200bhp for Stage 1 ECU + TCU
This skoda has the same engine found in the Golf GTD so luckily even though this is a 2022, it is unlocked!
These engines have huge capabilities when it comes to tuning, even just from a stage 1 ππ»
Stock logs showing 2.1bar, DPF pressures, EGTS, fuel pressure all perfect.
Tuned, these see 2.45bar in the mid range tailed off, huge amounts of boost whilst retaining complete safety for the turbo.
Beautiful power and torque curves making a nice 245.4bhp & 495.7nm.
An absolute sleeper on the road pulling all the way through the rev range accompanied by smoother shifts, quicker shifts, increased clamping pressure to assist the increase of torque.
Such a nice car to drive and now itβs even better πͺπ»

VW Golf MK8 TDI 150bhp for Stage 1 Dyno Tune.
Making good figures standard at 154.6bhp & 356.6nm.
The newer generation of the VAG group boost a lot higher than the previous generations with these requesting 1.85bar from factory!
Once tuned, these see 2.1bar peak tailed off!
Logs pre and post tune perfect showing a very healthy car, making awesome figures of 199.3bhp & 451.1nm
Peak power now earlier with a big torque increase from factory for all the pulling power one of these needs π€πΌ
Customer will be back in at some point to get the TCU remapped to top the driving experience off ππ»
