Fontainebleau climber profile no.2
Name: James
Age: 36
Occupation: Senior Health Care Assistant
Year started climbing: 10+ years
Ape index: I’m 5ft8” with a +1 ape index
Climbing strength: I’m all power and not a lot of technique Although, I like a nice slab but apparently I’m good a burly stuff you can just slap your way up so that and a lot of luck I guess!
Climbing weakness: I’m really bad when it comes to training I should probably be doing a lot more.
Favourite crag/boulder to date: anything on grit but I love turning stones for the views and I don’t really know if I have a favourite boulder but there’s a few that stand out because of the enjoyment I got from doing them like the feeling of topping out on Entropy's Jaw or the process of working black foot.
2023 & beyond climbing goals/projects: not sure what my next boulder project is but some day I’d like to climb v10 there’s also a route I’ve been working on so would be good to get back on that.
Why do you climb? / What motivates you? I’m not sure there’s just something in me that wants to climb even as a kid I always had to be up high on the top of something.
