Today, we continue with the staircase , this time focusing on the walls and the banister.

The walls were prepared and freshly painted, while the banister and woodwork were refreshed in white.

Hope you like the before and after result.

Let’s repair the wall a little

New project started - Before and After

Today I’m starting to show photos from another home refresh, and we’re beginning with the bedroom.

Home refresh continued.

This is a little photo update from the same project I showed in the video.

Some areas only needed fresh paint, but other walls needed much more preparation first. There was scraping, filling, sanding, checking the surface and painting to make everything look clean again.

For me, the preparation is always the most important part. Paint can make a huge difference, but only when the surface underneath is done properly.

Here are a few photos from different rooms in the house.

Hope you like the progress.

Let’s get to know each other again

Hi, my name is Marcin and I’m the owner of MMC Painting.

Recently, quite a few new people have joined my page, so I thought this would be a good moment to introduce myself again and tell you a little more about who I am, what I do, and how I approach my work.

I specialise in professional painting and decorating services. I paint walls, ceilings, doors, skirting boards, frames, radiators, staircases, bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and full properties. I also carry out preparation work before painting, including sanding, filling small cracks and imperfections, repairing damaged areas, priming surfaces and making sure everything is properly prepared before the final finish.

For me, painting is not just about putting colour on a wall.

It is a full process.

Before I even pick up a roller, I look carefully at the condition of the walls. I check where there are cracks, where old paint may be peeling, where the surface needs more attention and where extra preparation is needed. Sometimes a customer sees only the colour they would like on the wall, but I see the steps needed to make that colour look clean, smooth and professional.

And that is very important to me.

I do not like rushing a job just to get it done quickly. I do not want to simply cover a problem that may come back a few weeks later. I always try to work in a way that gives the best possible finish within the agreed scope of work. Of course, every wall is different and some surfaces may need plastering to be perfect, but I always do my best to improve the surface and achieve a clean, fresh result.

Preparation is one of the most important parts of my work.

For many people, painting starts when the colour goes on the wall. For me, it starts much earlier. It starts with protecting floors, furniture, sockets, lights and the areas around the room. It starts with looking properly at the space, understanding what needs to be done and speaking honestly with the customer about the final result.

I like my customers to know what to expect.

That is why I always try to be honest from the beginning. If something needs more work, I will say it. If a wall has old cracks, previous poor repairs, damp marks or damage, I will not pretend it is not there. I would rather explain everything clearly before starting than promise something unrealistic.

Trust is very important in this job.

I work inside people’s homes. That means I am entering someone’s personal space, and I respect that. I always try to work carefully, keep things tidy and make the whole process as calm and organised as possible. I know that any kind of work at home, even painting, can feel stressful, so I do my best to make it easier for the customer.

I am not someone who talks about myself a lot, but I know that behind every small business there is a real person.

Behind MMC Painting, there is me someone who simply cares about doing the job properly.

I enjoy seeing the difference between before and after. I enjoy the moment when a room starts to look fresh, clean and bright again. I enjoy seeing how a new colour or a refreshed finish can completely change the feeling of a space.

Sometimes it is a full house. Sometimes it is only one room. Sometimes it is a staircase that has been waiting for attention for a long time. Sometimes it is a bathroom wall that needs a lot of preparation. Sometimes it is a property after tenants, where patience and proper preparation are really important.

Every project is different, but I try to bring the same care and attention to each one.

In my work, three things matter to me most: good preparation, a clean finish and honesty.

Good preparation, because the final result depends on what happens before the paint goes on.

A clean finish, because small details make a big difference.

Honesty, because I believe customers should understand what is included, what can be achieved and what the surface allows.

MMC Painting is also fully insured, which means I work professionally and responsibly on every project. Whether it is a small room or a full property, I treat each job seriously and with respect.

If you are new here, thank you for joining my page.

I will be sharing my projects, before and after photos, behind-the-scenes work, wall repairs, painting stages and the preparation that often happens before the final result. Sometimes the most important work is not visible in the finished photo sanding, filling, protecting, priming and repairing but it makes all the difference.

You are also very welcome to follow me on Instagram, where I share more photos, videos and current projects:

New Project coming soon

03/06/2026

Fancy listening to me ?

Another project on the go, and this time we’re starting with the bathroom.
In this room, the main focus was this one wall. As you can see, it needed a lot more than just a quick coat of paint.

Photos from MMC's post 01/06/2026

The staircase banister, the stairs and any woodwork were not painted in this project.

Today we are moving a bit higher up the staircase and showing the next part of this hallway transformation.

This area looked very tired once the wallpaper came off. Sometimes wallpaper hides a lot more than you expect, and in this case it revealed cracked walls, old loose areas and plenty of damage that needed proper attention before any paint could go on.

You can have the best paint, the best colour and still end up with cracks, rough patches or uneven walls if the preparation is rushed.

On this section I had to repair the damaged areas first. The larger cracks were treated properly, with reinforcing mesh used where needed. After that came filling, sanding, checking, filling again, sanding again and making sure the surface was ready for paint.

Only when the walls were prepared properly could I start painting.

The walls and ceilings were painted in a fresh light grey tone, giving the staircase and landing a much cleaner, brighter and more modern look. The space now feels calm, fresh and much more welcoming when you walk upstairs.

There was a lot of work behind this finish, especially with the condition of the walls after removing the wallpaper. At first it looked like it would be very difficult to bring it back without full plastering, but with patience, the right preparation and careful finishing, the result came out really clean.

For me, this is always the most satisfying part of decorating. Seeing a damaged wall turn into a smooth, fresh surface again makes all the preparation worth it.

Hope you like this next part of the transformation.

Today I’m showing the next part of the staircase transformation, this time on the other side of the wall.

As you can see in the before photos, the cracks were really visible. I applied reinforcing mesh, filled the damaged areas, sanded everything down, filled again where needed, sanded again and then finished the walls with two coats of paint.

There was a lot of preparation behind this finish, but the result looks really clean and fresh. At first it looked almost impossible to bring it back without full plastering, but with the right preparation and patience, the wall came out beautifully.

As I mentioned in the previous post, I didn’t paint the staircase woodwork in this property.

Hope you like the transformation.
