Managed to complete this one just before yesterday’s hailstorm. The customer wanted some more usable space on the right side of the back garden. The apple tree had to stay of course, so we just built around it. A lovely area now for relaxing outside next Spring…If you need help improving your outside areas, get in touch. Many thanks. We completed this garden transformation recently for a lovely young couple, not long into their first home together. We converted the back garden area into a modern usable space, with horizontal slatwall fencing above the low original walls on both sides. Built a sturdy deck using premium (wider & thicker) boards, with bitumen coated subframe. Repointed the old wall. Repaired and restored the existing lean-to shed, replacing the door; then finished the project fitting a new gate with double-sided heavy duty lock. …and the back story.

Hi. I hope you’ll forgive the shameless plug here, but it seems like a good opportunity to share as I’m bedridden with the foul flu today.

During the working day, I’ll usually be found building timber structures in customer gardens, or restoring bay windows, etc. When I’m not doing that, I enjoy spending time focusing a bit of my spare creative energy producing different types of art. My latest ‘Handspun’ collection is starting to gain some momentum, and you can see some original framed pieces on display in Bread & Lard Island in Lady Bay. This was one of those lovely little jobs that come around occasionally. The customers had only moved in recently and wanted to tidy up and make better use of the far corner of their beautiful garden. The perfect spot for a custom-built barbell weights platform! Built using sturdy 6x2” treated timber subframe, coated with bitumen paint to prolong life, and topped with Premium (wider & thicker) deck boards. The adjustable barbell weights rack is bolted directly into the subframe, so it’s going nowhere. Job done…The customer said:

“I’ve known Matt a number of years and always been super pleased with previous jobs, but was still pleasantly surprised how good a job he made of my garden weights platform. He’s very communicative, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with”.
