Beyond the Tabletop

The Battle for 500 Worlds. The finale of our 500 Worlds campaign saw an epic showdown at Warhammer World. Myself and Michael as the raider team were ahead in the campaign, so we played out a final last stand, with the Inquisitor’s fortress being attacked on two fronts by the Imperials (Dan and Spike) and Chaos forces (Richie and Jack).

The attackers had three objectives, take down the guns (which we’re throwing out classic pie plates dealing mortal wounds), switch off the void shield generators which was stopping any form of deep striking and take the fortress objective. They had 8 turns to complete it. We had 2k points each, they had 1k each making a total of 4k a side but each attacker also had an extra 500points of reserves.

It all came down to the penultimate turn with ’s cerastus night performing the action to switch off the void shield, while my blade champion, two thunder warriors and an archon failed to down the knight leaving it on one wound, allowing the reserves of imperial and chaos terminators to teleport down onto the final objective with a heroic last stand with the inquisitor and his personal guard of Thunder Warriors.

Gaming table complete. It’s 6x4ft from and I’ve built some custom racks at the bottom for 2x2 and 1x1 gaming tiles.

Im up at Warhammer World this weekend. The AoS GT is tomorrow, but I had a test game with Tim to remember the rules. It took forever! But, I did come away with a 59-45 win. So it was close.

Finally finished with the Nighthaunt ahead of the GT, with one day to spare. (Friday being travel day). First photo is a WIP shot early in the day working on basing while the second photo is the finished lot all together still on their batch painting cardboard sticks (held down by double sided tape).

I cut a few corners to make sure I finished on time but I can paint those details up at the later date. Overall I’m pretty pleased with the end result. I’ll try and take a nicer photo tomorrow.

A little late night WIP as I push towards the WHW AoS GT next weekend. This is just 1 of 35 minis. So quite the batch paint. Side note, as much as I love the craventhrone guard minis, I also hate just how much detail they have and how difficult they are to paint.
Second side note, incase it wasn’t obvious this is a chainrasp mini not a craventhrone guard.
