🟢⚫ NEW SIGNING | Welcome, Oli Ashman!

We’re delighted to welcome Oli Ashman to Acklam ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Oli joins us from Leeds Corinthians as another exciting addition to the squad for the 2026/27 season.

A powerful prop, Oli has joined the club alongside his cousin Josh, with both wanting to be part of the rebuild at Acklam. Since arriving, he's thrown himself into pre-season and has impressed the coaches with his dedication, commitment and willingness to keep pushing himself every session.

A big Acklam welcome to Oli. We’re looking forward to seeing him in the black and green this season.

Acklam 22 Hartlepool 28

A close match, but Acklam come up just short

Acklam entertained Hartlepool in the reverse fixture of the match played a week ago . Again the visiting team came out on top.

It was a ' friendly 'match, played in four 20 minute quarters, rather than 2 halves . Both sides changed their lineups regularly by way of squad rotation.

Hartlepool drew first blood when they went blind to score a converted try for a nil 7 lead.

Acklam soon fought back and 2nd Row Josh Hamilton forced his way over for a good try, converted to even the scores.

At the end of the first quarter Acklam were awarded a penalty and stand off Ricky Scott kicked the goal to make it 10-7.

Acklam increased their lead when Hartlepool tried to run but lost the ball, the home side kicked through and centre Dan Bury raced through to touch down.

At 17-7 up Acklam were looking good. However, the visitors struck back strongly. They scored an interception try just before the break, 17-14.

Then in the 3rd quarter Hartlepool took control scoring 2 unanswered tries to complete a turnaround for a17-28 lead. Acklam did their best to get back in the game. Powerful prop Harvey Saul got over to score, putting Acklam within 6 points of the visitors. However, it wasn't enough, with Hartlepool earning a deserved 22-28 win, congratulations to them.

A lot of positive things for Acklam, but they need to work hard in the final two warm up matches to achieve a good start to the forthcoming league season.

🟢⚫ WELCOME HOME | Craig Mcivor Returns!

We're delighted to welcome Craig McIvor back to Acklam ahead of the 2026/27 season.

After spending the last two seasons at Redcar, Craig has decided it's time to come home.

Having previously represented both our Talbots and Hustlers, Craig knows exactly what Acklam is all about. After a couple of years away, he told us it never quite felt like home, and we're delighted to see him back in the black and green.

A scrum-half, Craig has thrown himself into pre-season since returning, showing great commitment and working hard alongside the rest of the squad as we continue to build for the season ahead.

Welcome home, Craig. It's great to have you back where you belong.
