T/Superintendent Daryll Tomlinson talks about Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action 2026 and how Middlesbrough's neighbourhood officers, police community support officers (PCSOs) and volunteers help to keep the public safe 💙 👮
Officers and PCSOs working in neighbourhood teams are often the first point of contact for local people, building trust, preventing crime and dealing with the issues that matter most to the communities they serve.
Neighbourhood teams took part in today's Operation Artemis in Middlesbrough, where they were out and about conducting high-visibility patrols in order to prevent crime and provide reassurance to our communities. This kind of activity is carried out 365 days a year and this week we'll be highlighting some of the excellent work carried out by these officers.
If you see our officers out and about please do say hello and raise any issues or concerns. As the week progresses we will continue to share with you the work of our teams as they protect communities and tackle criminals.

🗣️ Vicky's family said:
"To everyone that has shown their support to our family during this time, we would like to thank you.
"We would also like to say that even though an arrest has been made, we plead with anyone that has any information to come forward.
"It may feel and seem insignificant but that information, anything that is remembered, things that were seen or heard, it does matter; it could be a piece of a puzzle that continues to haunt us.
"We are in this abyss, 26 years and counting, and we need your help.
"Please speak up; we would never expect anyone to put themselves in harm’s way and we can't stress enough that this can be done anonymously if that is what makes you and keeps you safe.
"Help us to get justice for Vicky."

Policing in the heart of your neighbourhood 👮🏼♂️💙
PCs Hollinshead and Bajec from Middlesbrough NPT were delighted to attend the town’s Parkville Care Centre when they hosted an emergency services’ Blue Light day this week.
They enjoyed speaking with residents and staff and made sure they asked them about any issues they were experiencing in the local area.
Our officers were pleased to learn that the centre plans to invite Cleveland Police to their future community meetings where other local partners including Middlesbrough Council will be present.
We’re sure this will help strengthen the relationship between police, partners and the more vulnerable members of our community and help us work together to identify any problem areas which need targeting.
Thank you for having them and see you again soon!
