Manchester Animal Rights Network met up with Leeds Animal Rights Activists (LARA) in Leeds today for protests against the fur and animal testing industries.

In solidarity with this weeks actions in London by Animal Freedom Network - Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade - Rage Activism - AFW - Abolish Fur Worldwide and London Animal Rights Activism first stop was Louis Vuitton (LVMH) on Briggate. This is one of the few LVMH stand alone stores that exist in the UK. Activists protested inside and outside the store calling for LVMH to adopt a fur free policy.

Next stop was Barclays UK on Albion Street where a noisy and educational MBR Suppliers protest took place. So many people were disgusted to learn that Barclays provide MBR acres, breeders of beagles for animal testing, with banking and credit card services.

A positive day with Northern activists working together to strengthen the regional animal rights movement.

Yesterday at Labcorp Huntingdon, seeing the workers off as they were leaving after a day spent earning their living from the systematic exploitation of non human animals

More than a thousand staff are employed here, in various roles- every one of them is responsible for that exploitation and for the suffering being caused

Weโ€™ve seen the footage from Labcorp-
Pigs squealing with their mouths clamped open, having tubes shoved down their throats and having chemicals applied to open wounds

Rats and rabbits, restrained in medieval torture type contraptions, forced to spend their lives breathing in toxins

Dogs, from MBR Acres, restrained and pushed into place, forced to inhale toxins through a mask, having tubes shoved down their throats, crying out for the horror to stop

Desperate screaming macaque monkeys, held down, restrained in โ€˜chairsโ€™, trying to escape from the terror being done to them

Labcorp is carrying out the same horrific contract โ€˜scienceโ€™ as its predecessor Huntingdon Life Sciences, there was no place for it then and thereโ€™s none for it now

The animals being detained here and at the other contract toxicity testing labs need action

Yesterday afternoon, Sky Vision left Mauritius with a plane full of terrified monkeys and landed in France this morning.
An arduous flight with several stop-overs and delays.

Information received suggests these monkeys were then switched to an RAF-Avia plane and they are flying these monkeys to Manchester Airport right now for a contract testing facility.

Transport is hell for these sentient, complex and sensitive animals. Their stresses acknowledged by the vivisection industry, but ignored.
Imprisoned singularly in wooden transport crates, these beings made up of 96% of the same DNA as human primates, are denied comfort.
When feeling fearful, their teeth chatter, they cry, they reach out to troop mates to hug for comfort, to hold hands.
Yes, they hold hands and hug for comfort. Just like you do.
They are denied this basic instinct when forced to endure a long-haul flight full of smells and sounds alien to them.

And this journey is only the beginning of their nightmare.

How dare Manchester Airport say that they aren't complicit?
Shame on them to try and dismiss their facilitation of the barbaric primates for laboratories trade when it happens nearly every month!

๐Ÿ“ Keep signing and sharing this petition. If the airport add the long-tailed macaques Endangered status to their social responsibility policy, this may be a way for them to start refusing the flights ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://c.org/XNhxFX4dfR

VICTORY AGAINST VIVISECTION: Ridglan farms, the US company who bred beagles for animal testing for decades has been forced to close down. A combination of research, investigations, sit-ins, protests, non violent direct action and open rescues have seen the rotten business collapse. They have agreed to hand over all beagles on site to be rehabilitated from the trauma they have faced and placed in loving forever homes to live a life free from abuse. We must lawfully push on and make sure that MBR Acres Ltd is forced into the same position. 2000 lives a year are depending on us all.

Yesterday Free The MBR Beagles - Manchester Animal Rights Network and NARG - Northampton Animal Rights Group joined forces for a noisy visit to the MBR Acres hell hole where anybody onsite was left in no doubt as to our feelings on dog abuse. Dogs could be heard crying out and barking. We had a good look at the building work going on and the company carrying it out ๐Ÿ‘€. MBR are finished. You know it, we know it, they know it, the entire vivisection industry knows it. They can refurbish their abandoned offices as much as they like, it'll all still crumble under the bulldozers when the site is flattened for housing.

Next stop MBR customer and abusers of just about any animal species you can imagine Labcorp. The former HLS site has still never really recovered from what the animal rights movement did to it in the 90's and 00's. Broken, delapidated, shabby, outdated. This hell hole really does need to go. Several megaphones on the go, the animal killers certainly heard what we had to say!

You can help close down MBR by finding people to team up with. Animal Freedom Network is a great place to start. You can find your local groups or you can downoad free guides that help you with all you need to build a local group and start organising protests against MBR Suppliers and other animal abusers.
