We discovered the subfloor was rotted and needed to be replaced so we did that too so this bathroom lasts many more years to come.

The amount of dangerous work on this property is mind boggling 🤯!

Bathroom No.3 tear down and rebuild.

Luxury suite being installed, but not until again we’ve rectified more horrific DIY!

Full subfloor overhaul, plumbing ripped out start to finish and not to mention the opening of the partition wall. This one will be amazing when it’s finished!

Huge transformation for this shower room.

The toilet was in a poor location due to limitations from the waste facilities. We set about correcting this before embarking on a lengthy battle to correct previous poorly done work.

We took everything back to shell state and built it to last.

We’ve experienced a delay on the new basin and by supplier and yet to install shelving next to towel warmer so will install this in the coming days and upload some finished photos!

Failed wet room refurbishment.

This had been done so badly it had caused the whole subfloor to rot and degrade. We had to start from scratch.

We installed the following;

New subfloor and DPM,
Fully insulated the floor and walls,
Plywood sub floor,
Tanking system,
Underfloor heating system,
Riven floor tiles,
Porcelain mosaic,
New sanitary ware & vanity unit,
And two bespoke wet room screens.

We repositioned the toilet as it was in too close proximity to the wet area and install two small screens to reduce the overspray from the sanitary ware.

We’re so pleased with the outcome given how poor the the conditions we’ve had to work from! Now finally ready for many years of service 🔧 💦 🚿 🚰

UPDATE:

we’ve uncovered more water damaged subfloor when removing the last of the Polysafe. So out with the big guns, we broke up the concrete shower tray that was not fit-for-purpose, removed the remainder of the damaged floor and began to rectify the poor work. 😫

The shower valve had been installed using flexible hoses which should not be concealed and were hanging loose which meant the shower was insecure.
The waste pipe for the shower tray was split below surface level and never repaired and the rock wool insulation was lacking everywhere causing the room to be cold and draughty. 🤠🐴

The timber frame subfloor has now been installed and we’ve insulated the whole area using 100mm cellotex.
The plumbing has been altered to ensure a quality finish and the wall insulation will be replaced in due course. We will also be altering the soil stack in order to reposition the W/C out of the wet area as much as possible.

Bathroom no.2 out!

Failed wet room that had been fitted incorrectly. It included no waterproofing system or membrane and was a ticking time bomb from the second it was fitted.

All the subfloor materials including plywood and chipboard were saturated and rotten! The moisture has traveled through to the kitchenette and created a large issue there too where it needs lifting and redoing!

This shows the importance of getting people in who know exactly what they’re doing. 🪛🔨🚿

We haven’t uploaded much recently due to how busy we’ve been. This is the beginning of a project we’re currently doing!

Lowering a soil stack, removing the bizarre layout of a toilet within the shower area, altering all the poor plumbing works previously carried out and installing a high quality shower room!
