Steve Vai jam kinda morning… Liberty. Used to jam to this album over & over again. Thinking how the hell did this guys guitar sound so good. And I remember seeing a video in the guitar shop I used to work at, Vai, Satriani & Brian May performing this in Seville. I also had the privilege of meeting & interviewing Steve about 15 years ago at Manchester Apollo. Very nice chap indeed.
Gary Moore Jam this morning… For me he was absolutely amazing. Perfect blend of technique & feel. And was never the same twice. His notes cut through like no one. His bends were extraordinary. His speed was tremendous. His delicate touch was untouchable.
Easter SATCH Jam. Used to play this all the time many years ago at jam nights. Great piece of music to warm up and jam with. Get those fingers waking up. The guitar is a Dean guitar signed by my pal Doug Scarrat of Saxon. .official

About half-way through the last tour we had a great time in Hamburg. We managed to get a night off the night before the show - nice meal & and a good few beers exploring the sights of Hamburg city centre. Then the next day was the day of the Hamburg show - and just so happened to be Paddy’s Day. And seen as we had our legit Irishman ‘Joe May’ and his missus ‘Yvonne’ with us, we decided to celebrate in style. Plus he brought Guinness - we also added back into the set our Thin Lizzy Medley. Marco our German merch master was with us too along with our wonderful host ‘Steffi’ on the show day made an excellent crew and team around us. SOLD OUT show too, it was a highlight of the tour.

In a world where social media & AI is ruling people’s lives I do kind of pride myself on that I’m not staring into my phone all day obsessing and when I’m on tour and see some spectacular things, I sometimes think it’s better to soak up the moment rather than looking at it through a phone camera. HOWEVER… I have also been told I don’t take enough photos when I am away… it’s nice for family and friends to see where we’re up and what we get up to. so here’s some from the last tour… :) mainly from Sweden.

2026 touring started with 6 shows in Spain & today I set off for the Irish Tour.
Thanks to BlackStar Amplification once again. I now own 3 of these bad boys, probably the amp / pedal I’ve been looking for for years. Making fly-in shows so much easier for me to instantly have my tone without going down the 100% digital route. And still having the option to run a 4x12 cabinet.
