The Denmark-based artist welds an unwavering dedication to the discovery of new music, and a deep passion for playing it to people who share the same values and enthusiasm as her. The once-rising, now-risen star is a whirlwind in the DJ booth. A refreshingly authentic and human presence, Anastasia makes curious onlookers instant fans, whilst encouraging existing ones to dance harder.

After a fantastic Summer performing across Europe at festivals like Awakenings, Milkshake and Neopop to name a few, Anastasia Kristensen contributed to the Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 last weekend, and recently sat down with Numéro Netherlands for an in-depth interview.

The mix features fragments of live recordings, unheard oddities, barely finished sketches and tracks rejected by labels; all glued together with recordings of us eating crisps & playing computer games. It is a story of extreme highs and lows; wallowing in mundane banality in one moment, and flying through impossible landscapes the next."

"Side A was compiled after DJing at Pikes. I wanted to do a mix that summed up the 48 hour whirlwind at the famed location for the Club Tropicana video. It's a mix of cocktail disco, speedos, swimming pools, 90s Ibizan house, and a 200ml bottle of sunscreen."

"Tracks for Side B were selected as I took a two hour train to Hull for a date. It's made up of nervous energy, uptempo disco, a boots meal deal, throbbing house, smints and a hope for romance."
