Lifes been stressful recently. School holidays, redundancy, applying for new roles, but things have started to look up: new role, a holiday and a new practice! I've been practicing silk knotting with gemstones. Proud of these, they're neat and I love the contrasting colours with that gummy, bright exceptionally coloured amazonite!

There's a tiny little knot in between each stone and a hand made silver chain with a bespoke clasp that i also made.

I'm thinking opal next 🤩

How good does this Amazonite look knotted with Orange and Purple silk? They are necklaces with hand made clasps and extension chains (silver). More soon 🤩

Black star Sapphire set in a textured sterling silver heart. These are so special, they display something called 'asterism'. When direct light hits, it highlights tiny mineral inclusions inside that creates a floating 6 pointed star. These ones are from Thailand, i picked them up at Bakewell last year. I have 1 left, really wanting to buy more.

Creating a collet setting for this incredible Moonstone I picked up at bakewell rock and mineral exchange last year from Can't decide if it should be earrings, a ring or a pendant. Look at the peach flashes :o

Around a year ago, i was approached to create a bespoke charm bracelet celebrating milestones in rare diseases, patient stories and scientific breakthroughs.

As both a PNH patient and silversmith, this one was personal.

Every charm represented an individual story or milestone, all together telling a story (with many more to come!).

It's been hard to do anything lately. I've really struggled to spend any time at my bench, and this small collection of moonstone pendants has taken me about 3 weeks to finish. Stealing time here and there wherever I've been able to.

I've also been quietly working on some content around a commission I'm finally able to talk about. It's been a whole year! Nearly. Its taken me a while to pull it together properly but I'm excited that I'm able to finally share it.

Beautiful blue Moonstone and light purple Amethyst. The silver pendant is textured with sun rays, giving an added shimmer alongside the blue, green & orange sheen of the Moonstone.

It's been hard to spend time at my bench recently. I've been working on a few little bits and pieces to sharpen my skills & keep practicing the basics... practice makes perfect as they say.
