We’re excited to share a new partnership between the Pure Gardening Group and the Community Food Growing Project at Alexandra Park. The group, has been part of the Alexandra Park Growing Hub for several years and will now be selling plants, herbs and gift trees from the Boathouse Café. This exciting development builds on the groups long standing involvement and supports the sharing of valuable horticulture, work, and life skills through the project.

If you’re looking for a thoughtful and sustainable gift, why not choose a gift tree, a potted plant or herb ?
The team will be focusing on growing a range of gift trees, herbs, and seasonal vegetable plants, all nurtured with care by the gardening group.

Alternatively you can call at the boathouse cafe on a Monday afternoon where you see our lovely clients selling a selection of their work.

We are incredibly proud of our clients for successfully completing the IT Safety Awareness Course as part of the Pure Innovations Life Skills Project!

Through group discussions, interactive learning and teamwork, participants developed valuable skills to help them navigate the internet safely and confidently. From recognising online risks to understanding how to stay protected online, the group showed fantastic engagement and determination throughout the course.

Building digital confidence is an important part of independence and we are delighted to support our clients in developing skills that promote both safety and empowerment online.

🌟 Celebrating Alice at The Boathouse Café! 🌟

Alice has been attending the Boathouse Café for some time now, and she continues to absolutely shine every time she’s with us! 💙

She really enjoys baking and takes great pride in creating delicious cakes , which are always so popular they sell out in no time! 🍰✨

Alongside baking, Alice also supports with general housekeeping, including cleaning tables and washing up. She approaches every task with care and a great attitude.

More recently, Alice has been developing her skills even further by learning how to operate the till and serve customers. She has taken to this brilliantly, and it’s been wonderful to see her confidence grow. 😊

We’re also delighted to share that customers have given lots of positive feedback about the friendly and welcoming service she provides.

We are so proud of the progress Alice is making — keep shining, Alice! ⭐👏

🚒 Fire Truck Planter Donation – Heywood Fire Station 🚒

Our wonderful client Zack has spent the past 6 months handcrafting this incredible fire truck planter, and what a result it is! From the initial design to the final build, Zack dedicated so much time, care, and effort into creating something truly special for Heywood Fire Station.

With the support of staff members Janis, Will, and our art facilitator Vicky, Zack not only developed his creative skills but also built his confidence and communication—personally reaching out to the fire station to arrange this generous donation.

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Heywood Fire Station for welcoming Zack, along with his friends and family, to see the planter being gifted. It was such a fantastic day and a real privilege to be part of such a meaningful moment.

We love building connections within our community and supporting local partnerships like this 💛
