Monty Key Photography

I recently got a 16mm lens, I'll be using it a lot for landscape and astro photography but I also loved taking it around town the other day! The wide angle gives such a nice perspective and creates great leading lines in the shot. What do you think of the look? Or do you prefer zoomed in images? Let me know in the comments!

Can't go wrong with sunny days and a bright yellow bus! I've got such a backlog of editing to do at the moment so I'm working very hard. Slowly but surely I'm finishing off the recent shoots I've done and getting through the lady two months of street photography.

After taking a break from social media to focus on other things I'm back! I'll be posting some slightly different sorts of content from now on so let me know if you like it or not over the coming weeks. I captured these images under the bridges in Castlefield, it's a place I've been to and captured many times before but I wanted to try and capture some slightly different angles this time. I've not done a shot like this in a little while but while I was making presets I felt this picture really lent itself to a motion blur. This is edited with one of the presets that will be in my upcoming pack, so far I've made 4 but I want to have at least 10 in there so it's going to be a busy time for me! Let me know what you think of the edit and if you have any suggestions for Preset styles I can make!

Grey days call for moody edits! I mentioned in my last post that I was working on some new preset packs, this image is using one of them. The other pack is more of a bright and airy style, I may also try and quickly make an autumnal one but we'll see how much time I get. Once they're ready they'll all be available on my website!

We finally had some sunshine! It feels like it's not stopped raining in weeks and today it's right back to it, but yesterday it was a clear evening and k went into town to get some sunset images. I tried to walk different routes and discover new angles I could shoot from so I'm not always posting the same things. I don't think I've ever taken a picture of the Sackville Building, maybe because I associate it with all the exams I had in there? But yesterday I captured this with a nice empty road and the orange sun lighting the building perfectly. I've got quite a lot to share from recent shoots so make sure you turn on post notifications so you don't miss anything!

A little while ago I took this image from the view point in Hyde. The view from up there is absolutely magical and I got so lucky with the sunset! I wish I had a longer telephoto lens so I could really zoom in and capture the city in more detail but even in this wide shot, the iconic Manchester skyline is clearly visible. I'll definitely be visiting this spot again in the future and trying out some different things to capture more detail.

I love getting the colour gels out on a shoot! Me ans did a few different outfits using these lights and I love how they turned out! I actually have loads of different coloured gels but I always just use these two, I'll have to experiment more soon!

Another image from Salford Quays, this time it doesn't involve reflections on the water! There is so much great architecture in this area, I should really capture more of it instead of always shooting the water.

A little while ago came to shoot with me ans we tested out some new backdrops I'd just got. It was such a fun shoot and we got some really great images! I've still got a lot of editing to do to get through them all, but I wanted to share these first few with you.
