I thought some of you might appreciate this...
I managed to find my box of Sylvanian families from child hood today for Seren to play with. In it I found a school book that 8 year old me had made for one of the bears. I was clearly already writing CB dogs style handouts way back in '93 just about the wrong animal πŸ˜‚

🐾 Volunteer Opportunity - Tuesday Evenings 🐾

We're looking for a friendly, dog-loving volunteer to join our team at CB Dogs on Tuesday evenings!

Whether you're studying an animal-related subject, thinking about a career working with dogs, a dog walker looking to build your knowledge, or simply someone who would love to learn more about dog training and behaviour, we'd love to hear from you.

As a volunteer you'll gain hands-on experience working with dogs and their owners, learn about positive, reward-based training, and have access to all of our training content to support your learning.

The role involves helping us set up and pack away before and after classes, moving tables, chairs and training equipment, helping reorganise the hall between sessions and generally being an extra pair of hands. As you gain confidence, you'll also have the opportunity to help owners practise the training exercises during classes.

So whilst there will definitely be plenty of lovely dogs involved, this isn't just a "come and cuddle puppies" role - we're looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in and become part of the team - though as a by-product you may also get to cuddle lots of lovely puppies!

No formal qualifications are required - we're much more interested in finding someone who is approachable, open-minded, keen to learn and happy to get involved. Qualifications or experience working with dogs are always a bonus though. Likewise, if you've previously attended our courses with your own dog, you'll already be familiar with many of the exercises and the way our classes are structured, which can be helpful, but this certainly isn't essential.

πŸ“ East Didsbury, Manchester
πŸ• Tuesday evenings (possible occasional Sundays too)
🐢 Minimum commitment of 3-6 months
πŸ“§ To apply, email [email protected] with a little information about yourself and why you'd like to volunteer with us.

Please feel free to share with anyone who might be interested!

HUGE well done to this amazing Good Manners Group who graduated last month! πŸŽ“πŸΎ

Hannah and I have genuinely had such a fantastic time teaching you all over the last few weeks. Every single owner came to class ready to learn, ready to put the work in and, most importantly, ready to have fun with their dogs along the way.

A huge well done to:

🐾 Winnie
🐾 Zena
🐾 Bugsy
🐾 Bruno
🐾 Jessie

An extra big shout out to little Zena, who was slightly nervous of bigger dogs when she started - and then ended up with this motley crew! πŸ˜‚ She did amazingly and grew in confidence around the big goofballs week by week. We were so proud of her.

Really hope to see you all back for more in the not-too-distant future!

Please feel free to tag yourselves, share away and show off your gorgeous graduates! πŸŽ‰πŸΎ

πŸŽ“πŸΎ A huge congratulations to all of our May 2026 Puppy Foundations graduates! πŸΎπŸŽ“

Over the course of May we've watched nervous puppies grow in confidence, enthusiastic puppies learn a little self-control (sometimes! πŸ˜‚), owners discover just how clever their pups really are and some wonderful partnerships begin to develop.

Every single dog in these photos has worked hard, every owner has put time and effort into their training, and you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves ❀️

Whether your puppy arrived bouncing off the walls, a little unsure of the world, determined to eat everything in sight, or convinced that listening was entirely optional, you've all made fantastic progress and it has been an absolute pleasure to be part of your journey.

Congratulations to:

🐾 Nyx
🐾 Nell
🐾 Dylan

Oh my goodness guys, overwhelmed doesn't even begin to cover it ❀️

Last Thursday I sent a little email mentioning that I'd love some new Google reviews and then over the weekend you amazing, wonderful people went and left TWENTY FOUR new 5-star reviews 🀯

I've spent the last few days reading through every single one and honestly they've made me so, so happy. Thank you all so much. I loved every photo, every story and every kind word. Seeing so many familiar faces (and paws!) pop up in my notifications has been absolutely lovely.

A couple of years ago, Google accidentally removed all of my reviews and I lost over 13 years' worth of wonderful client feedback overnight. It was genuinely heartbreaking, so watching the page slowly grow again means more to me than I can put into words.

What has struck me most whilst reading through them all is seeing the same words coming up again and again - kind, supportive, patient, encouraging, knowledgeable and non-judgemental. Creating that sort of experience for both dogs and their humans is so so important to me, so hearing that reflected back in your reviews really means the world.

Thank you for trusting me and the team with your dogs, for supporting a small local business and for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback. I genuinely appreciate it more than you know ❀️

P.S. If you've been meaning to leave a review but haven't quite got around to it yet, please don't feel under any pressure at all... but I can confirm that every single one still makes me do a little happy dance πŸ’ƒπŸΎ

🐾 Lead Walking Workshop – This Sunday! 🐾

Suitable for CB Dogs graduates, both new and old, who would like some extra support with lead walking skills.

πŸ“… Sunday 14th June
πŸ•§ 12:30pm
πŸ“ East Didsbury
πŸ’· Β£40 per dog

This workshop combines the best of both worlds!

Before attending, you'll receive access to our online Lead Walking content, covering:
βœ” Why dogs pull on lead
βœ” What makes lead walking difficult
βœ” How to make walks calmer and more enjoyable
βœ” Training exercises and games to build better lead walking habits
βœ” Reward placement, handling skills and common mistakes

This means that when you arrive, we can spend the full session focusing on practical training rather than sitting in a classroom.

During the workshop, you'll head out on a 'walk' around the Scout Hut grounds with your small group while our trainers work alongside you, helping you put the exercises into practice with your own dog. You'll receive individual guidance, troubleshooting and coaching throughout, leaving with a clear plan for moving forward.

βœ” Small group sizes
βœ” Two trainers
βœ” Force-free methods only
βœ” Friendly, supportive atmosphere
βœ” Suitable for puppies, adolescents and adult dogs

If you'd like calmer, more enjoyable walks and some hands-on support to get there, we'd love to see you!

To book your place, drop us a message ASAP! 🐾

*Places are limited and must be booked in advance.*

Oh my goodness, I'm ridiculously excited (and also actually terrified!!) that this is finally ready to share!! πŸ₯³πŸΎ

https://cbdogs.podia.com/cb-dogs-library

For the past couple of months, whenever I've had a spare hour, I've been quietly chipping away at something that's been on my to-do list for years.

The **CB Dogs Foundations Library** is now live!

If you've attended our courses, you'll recognise this as it's all of the online content you've hopefully benefited from as part of your training with us. The difference is that it's now available as a standalone resource for people who can't attend classes, live too far away, work awkward shifts or simply don't want to commit to a full course right now.

The Library contains over 7 hours of training and behaviour content, step-by-step demonstrations and downloadable PDFs, all available to watch whenever suits you, with lifetime access and no subscription.

I've also made the Introduction and full Training Basics session completely free, because I want people to be able to get a feel for both the content and my teaching style before spending any money.

If you've trained with us before and found the online content useful, your support could make a huge difference here.

I'd be incredibly grateful if you'd share this post with friends, family, colleagues or fellow dog owners who you think might benefit from it too.

It's been a lot of work putting this together and, whilst it's finally ready to launch, I suspect it's also something that will continue to grow and evolve over time as I add new content, resources and ideas.

Putting this out into the world feels kind of vulnerable and terrifying to me, so I really hope people like it, find it useful and that it helps lots of dogs and their humans 🐾

27/05/2026

Due to yesterday’s extreme heat, we had to postpone our evening Lead Walking Workshop πŸ₯΅πŸΆ

The upside is that to accomodate the reschedule for everyone - it’s created a few extra workshop spaces across the rescheduled sessions if anyone would like to join us!

These workshops are exclusively for CB Dogs Members (and puppy graduates) Ideal for dogs who:
🐾 pull on lead
🐾 become overexcited outdoors
🐾 struggle to slow down and relax on walks
🐾 feel disconnected from you once outside

We focus on realistic, reward-based lead walking skills and helping walks feel calmer and more cooperative for both ends of the lead.

Available sessions:
🐾 Thursday 4th June – 6pm
🐾 Tuesday 9th June – 5pm
🐾 Sunday 14th June – 12.30pm

They're £40 a workshop and include life time access to all the online content too 😊

Message us if you’d like details or one of the extra spaces!
