What is a cardiac arrest?
Most people confuse it with a heart attack. Here's the difference — and why it matters.
Cardiac arrest stops the heart instantly. Every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces survival by 10%. Knowing what is happening is the first step to acting.
Follow us to learn how you can be ready to save a life.
💚 We are relieved to hear that Christian Eriksen is doing well following his collapse during last night's match, and we wish him a speedy recovery.
Many of us remember Christian’s cardiac arrest in 2021 and the rapid CPR and defibrillation that helped save his life. His experience is a powerful reminder that, in an emergency, ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference.
Learn CPR. Know where your nearest defibrillator is. Be ready to step forward when it matters most.
💚 Be The One.

This is a flexible opportunity for passionate, engaging trainers who want to make a real difference while working independently.
Applicants must hold:
• A valid Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the DBS Update Service
• A full driving licence and access to their own vehicle for work purposes
Ideally, candidates will also have their own training equipment.
If you’re experienced in First Aid instruction and enjoy working with a variety of groups, we’d love to hear from you.

This week is Mental Health Week, and at Cookson First Aid we are reminded that mental wellbeing matters every day — not just during awareness campaigns.
Whether someone is experiencing good or poor mental health, everyone deserves to feel supported, understood, and equipped with the right tools to cope.
Have you considered mental health awareness training for your staff, volunteers, or service users?
We are proud to offer free mental health awareness sessions for school staff, charities, and community groups. These sessions are designed to build confidence, reduce stigma, and help create more supportive environments across organisations and communities.
If your organisation would benefit from this training, please get in touch to learn more or book a session.
Let’s continue working together to support one another and strengthen mental well-being in our communities 💚
