A Successful Mock Tribunal

Last week, Castlefield Recruitment partnered with Ward Hadaway to host an Employment Mock Tribunal for Public Sector HR professionals.

The day mirrored a real employment tribunal, from opening statements and presenting evidence to witness questioning and final judgments. This immersive experience gave attendees valuable insight into tribunal proceedings, while also providing the opportunity to ask questions and deepen their understanding of correct processes and procedures.

Events like this are key to helping professionals develop their skills and knowledge, strengthen internal practices, and ensure they are well prepared to handle such situations should they arise.

It’s official. The World Cup 2026 is here.

The return of the World Cup has driven a significant increase in demand for AV professionals across the UK to accommodate the large-scale streaming of the event. Castlefield Recruitment are working with a one of England’s largest healthcare services to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineer.

No two days will be the same in this role, with a host of responsibilities spanning over electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating/air ventilation and building tasks.

Duties include:
🔹Ensure all PPM and repair works are completed in line with contract SLAs.
🔹Safely operate and maintain HVAC, HV, L8, mechanical, and electrical systems onsite.
🔹Maintain strong working relationships with site representatives.
🔹Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and issue Permits to Work.
🔹Adhere to safe systems of work

This role is ideal for someone with an Electrical qualification and prior mechanical knowledge/experience to provide support across the hospital’s sites.

Global supply chains face growing cyber risk

New insights from Supply Chain Digital highlight a widening vulnerability across supply chains, with 43% of businesses experiencing a cyber breach or attack in the past year.

With attackers increasingly targeting third-party suppliers, limited visibility remains a critical risk, with only 15% of organisations assess immediate supplier risks, and even fewer look beyond that.

For the public sector, this reinforces the importance of strengthening supply chain resilience and investing in talent skilled in cybersecurity, risk management and procurement.

Caroline Shafar and Charlotte Nuttall of Ward Hadaway will be leading our Mock Tribunal event on 9 June.

With over 35 years’ combined experience, they bring a wealth of knowledge from working across both the public and private sectors.

Caroline is a Partner at Ward Hadaway, specialising in employment law, with an established reputation across the NHS and primary care sector. She supports HR teams and senior management on employment strategy, as well as complex, high‑value litigation up to the Court of Appeal.

Charlotte is a Legal Director who predominantly advises private sector organisations, with particular experience in recruitment, manufacturing, leisure and hospitality, technology, and care. Her expertise ranges from day‑to‑day advisory work to strategic guidance on complex matters such as contractual disputes and executive exits.
