A busy few weeks for us, after engineering this lovely gig on Friday, and Calder Valley Swing's workshop weekend. Next up, Kevin is DJing for Mersey Swing's Smackdown weekend, and then heading to Goosfest arts and music festival in Goostrey, Cheshire to install a PA, for Beware of Trains.
Friday night was a dream! What a lovely time we had playing in St Margaretโs church ๐
Itโs no easy thing doing a gig completely DIY in a non music venue, so thank you so much to everyone who came to watch and support local, live, original music ๐
A huge thank you to our support artists Nicky Phillips and who were both incredible
And a massive thank you to the team:
Emily Mercer Music on keys ๐น
Isabella Baker on violin ๐ป
Quincey May Brown on harp +bass ๐ธ
Ruthie Parrty on harmonies ๐ถ
Gary Boast on sound + drums ๐ฅ
Kevin Leach on sound ๐ค
Hollowsphere on providing amazing lighting ๐คฉ
Susannah Cox on door and event support duties ๐
Heidi Dewhirst on photography ๐ธ
What a great second show for Dea Collective. Canโt wait for the next one ๐๐
We enjoyed providing the tech facillities for Heptonstall Festival at the weekend. Here's a little snippet of Adelaide Taylor's set.

Hi, it's Kevin Leach here. Just to let you know what's going on with this page.
I've taken the dormant 'Call & Respond' page (that we used for a while for Tuesday dancing in Manchester, before Swing North was properly established), and renamed it. I'll now be using it for any private business dealings, in dance, sound and tech.
If this doesn't interest you, then please do unfollow. Ta!

A couple of things coming up at Stretford Public Hall. Our friends at Manchester Lindy have their birthday party next month, and Friends of Stretford Public Hall have a jazz trio playing this coming Sunday.
ACOUSTICS
We've raised the issue of acoustics in The Storehouse again with the venue. We know that it was difficult to hear the teachers again last night, and are having some difficulty in setting the music at a level where it can be heard, but you don't have to shout at the person next to you!
We're gonna try bringing our own sound system next Tuesday to see if that helps. Ultimately, we hope that the venue will add some acoustic treatment to the room, if it is to remain our weekly venue long term. Thanks for your patience.
