World Mental Health Month x Black History Month

I had the privilege of connecting with a group of men, some facing life sentences and others on serious charges, through an open conversation about my journey—covering mental health, sports, and the power of inspiration and aspiration. My goal was to show that even within tough circumstances, there’s always a spark that can drive change.

The intense level of connection and understanding was powerful. Laughter, candid questions, and shared stories filled the room, reminding me of the universal need for hope and resilience. We capped it all off with a Q&A and some basketball—an incredible way to break barriers and build camaraderie.

Moments like these reaffirm why Why Not I’s mission to inspire and empower people from all backgrounds matters so much. Looking forward to more opportunities to impact lives in meaningful ways.

💜 October is Domestic violence awareness month. Domestic Violence Awareness Month is designed to unify women and men all across the world who have been victims of domestic violence. It is important to recognize that domestic violence impacts millions of people, and it’s not only women who are victims; many men suffer domestic violence as well. On this special episode we spoke to Photographic artist about her amazing portrait work with DV survivors and gives her insight on what she learned though her ‘I AM’ exhibition.
