How sweet it is to finally be able to share this labour of love with you 🫀

Finding the words to express how profoundly this track has rippled through every inch of my body is a tad difficult- it is a true expose of my soul, and all of the teeny tiny steps I/we have taken to get to this very moment. A moment of becoming, birthed in the trenches of deep unbecoming.

The lyrics to ‘Breathe’ emerged from a space of unravelling, a continuous contention within self, stirred both by my own inner turmoil, and the outer turmoil each of us is navigating day after day. The world is on fire, our hearts are burning, and each second spent fighting for the liberation of all beings, is a drop of weariness within the already overflowing sea of grief that courses through our collective bloodstream. My heart is with Palestine, with Sudan, with the Congo, with Afghanistan, with our trans brothers and sisters, and all souls that are fighting each and every day to prove their divine right to exist as a human being. Your battles are not fought in isolation- we are with you in every moment, in every breath, and your strength is the purest reminder of the resilience and perseverance of the human spirit.

‘Breathe’ is an ode to what can often be a tumultuous journey throughout this life, and although written through the voice of personal experience, I pray that it lands as something deeper- as a poignant and powerful reminder of the strength that each of us hold within. I am hopeful, I am always hopeful, and yet I know too well the hopelessness that can often pervade day in and day out. I pray that whenever you are weighed down by the darkness of this existence, that you find solace in the knowing that you are never alone- and a lightness in the collective determination to forge a better world from the ashes of the old.

‘Breathe’ is our gift to you, a labour of love in continuation of our reverence towards the human spirit. Thank you for being on this journey with us, and may we continue to offer each other our hearts, in fullness and in truth.
