A huge thank you to David for his hardwork, passion, and commitment in helping bring The Bread and Butter Thing to Maidstone.
What started as an idea has grown into a valuable community resource, providing local people with access to affordable food while promoting dignity, independence, and resilience. Through David's efforts, Making A Difference to Maidstone has been able to partner with The Bread and Butter Thing, expanding the support available to our community and reaching even more people through a range of practical initiatives.
Partnerships like this demonstrate the power of organisations working together to create lasting change. We are grateful for David's role in making this possible and look forward to continuing to build on this partnership to support even more people across Maidstone.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day đź’ś
Every older person deserves to live with dignity, respect, safety, and compassion.
Sadly, many elderly people experience abuse, neglect, isolation, financial exploitation, or emotional harm — often behind closed doors and without their voice being heard.
As a community, we all have a responsibility to look out for and protect the vulnerable around us. A simple check-in, conversation, visit, or offer of support can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
At Making A Difference to Maidstone, we believe in standing alongside people with compassion and dignity, ensuring nobody feels forgotten, unheard, or alone.
If you are concerned about an elderly person who may be struggling or at risk, please do not ignore it. Reach out, report concerns where necessary, and help connect them with support services and organisations that can help.
Together, we can help build a kinder, safer, and more caring community.

Men’s Health Week is an important reminder that men’s health is not just physical — mental and emotional wellbeing matter too. 💙
Too often, men suffer in silence, avoid opening up, or feel pressure to “just get on with it.” But checking in on the men around us, listening without judgement, and encouraging conversations can make a real difference.
A simple message, phone call, coffee, or conversation could help someone more than you realise.
At Making A Difference to Maidstone, we encourage men to look after both their physical and mental health, seek support when needed, and know that asking for help is never a weakness.
If you know someone who may be struggling emotionally, mentally, physically, or financially, please reach out to them and help connect them with support where needed.
Let’s look out for one another and build a stronger, healthier community together

This Healthy Eating Week, we are highlighting the importance of access to nutritious food for everyone in our community. 🥗💚
At Making A Difference to Maidstone, our healthy food bank focuses on providing good quality food, including fresh, chilled, frozen, and healthier options wherever possible, helping support individuals and families facing hardship.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to Maidstone Borough Council for helping fund and support our healthier focused foodbank within our community.
Good food can make a real difference — improving health, wellbeing, dignity, and hope.
Together, we can continue supporting healthier futures across Maidstone.
