Always good to catch up with manufacturers, suppliers and the Heat Geek community, see what's new in the industry and share experiences from real-world projects.

Heat pump technology and low temperature heating continues to be front a center, and with this weeks temperarures Air Con was the topic of many conversations.

Days like these are invaluable for staying up to date and ensuring we're bringing the latest knowledge back to our customers.

Today at the Liverpool Retrofit Summit

Great to hear more about the future of retrofit and the rollout of the new Warm Homes schemes across the region.

Really interesting discussions around:
whole house retrofit
low temperature heating
heat pump performance in existing housing stock
and improving standards across the industry

Also had the chance to get a look around the current on-site test homes to see different retrofit measures and heating systems being trialled in real-world properties 🏡

Good to see more focus being placed on proper design, fabric improvements and long-term performance rather than just quick installs.

Although we don't directly work with these schemes their work plays a massive part in consumer confidence.

The more success stories from all angles will really help people adopt renewables.

🐣 EASTER HOLIDAYS DAY 1 🐣

Today the kit landed for my own house much to the kids excitement.

Hoping comes home with the same enthusiasm 🤞

Heat pump + cylinder ready to go.

⏪️⏪️ Rewind to 2015 — Shortly after moving in I ripped out a gravity floorstanding gas boiler and small open vented cylinder and went combi.
Upgraded the downstairs rads to K2s with the mindset fill the space an if its too hot the TRV can be turned down.

At the time I believed this was efficiency 🙄

Turns out — they’re actually still spot on. Me along with many other engineers where actually specifying radiators for low temp heating without knowing!

⏩️⏩️ Now using Heat Geek Zero Disrupt, I have scanned my property and existing system and no radiator upgrades are needed to run low temp and cheaper than gas 🔥➡️⚡

Boiler owes me nothing — been solid, but with so much funding currently available its time for change.

Heat pumps and all the associated parts aren't cheap but with £7.5k BUS grant 💷+ £1k Barclays greener home reward 💷… it’s a no brainer.

Yes… even for a trained gas engineer!! 😅
