Whether you're a devoted audiobook listener or curious to give audiobooks a try, come along to share recommendations, discover new favourites and chat with fellow book lovers.

Calling all mini makers, doodlers and big imaginations! 🎨✨

This half-term, step into Doodle Land 2.0: Time Travel — a hands-on creative adventure led by visual artist Tamara Nkrumah.

Using recycled and everyday materials, young creatives will invent time-travel devices, dream up quirky characters and build futuristic landscapes. What will the world look like in the year 3000? That's for you to create! 👽🛸

📚 Whatever you’re into, Take 10 to Read into it!

This World Mental Health Day, 10 October, take a little time for yourself and join Take 10 to Read.

At 10am, people across the UK are being encouraged to stop what they’re doing and enjoy 10 minutes of reading for pleasure. 💚

And remember, reading doesn’t have to mean picking up a novel. ⚽🍳🎭🔨 You could dive into the pre-match football analysis, discover a new recipe, catch up on an interview with your favourite celebrity, explore some DIY inspiration, or simply read about something you love.

Reading can be a chance to pause, relax, boost your mood and escape from the everyday.

Whatever you’re into, take 10 minutes and read into it.

Central Library Customer Notice

Luton Borough Council will begin a major programme of window replacement at Luton Central Library.

The library will remain open throughout the works, although disruption is expected, including noise, temporary closures of certain areas and reduced access to some books and services.

Phase 1 of the project launches Monday 5th October and is expected to last up to 3 weeks. This will see the closure of the 2nd Floor, including access to the 2nd floor PCs. PCs currently located on the 1st floor will remain available.
