We’re inviting IDE alumni — one graduate from each year (1982–2024) — to exhibit as part of our anniversary celebrations, generously hosted by !

We want to showcase work that feels personal, joyful, and true to you — from passion projects to commercial work you’re genuinely excited about.

MAKERVERSITY: DESIGNING FOR THE REAL WORLD

This autumn, celebrates the tenth anniversary of one of its first creative residents, with an exhibition showcasing innovative projects and the process behind disruptive design including 8 of our IDE Alumni.
Since it's opening, Makerversity has been a home for our graduates giving them the opportunity to carry on their IDE projects thanks to the incredible team and facilities they provide.

Congratulations to our alumni 2022, Minwook Paeng!
He has been selected to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list – Class of 2023!
In its 8th year now, the Asian list is a continuation of the global expansion of the Forbes 30 Under 30 franchise, which started over a decade ago.
His projects during the IDE course such as Third Eye and Vo&Airro were recognized for their innovation and social influence.

Congratulations to our IDE 2 students Irene Jia, Nirmal Thomas, Grace Duan, and Linxi C.C for winning the ‘Analytics for Society Awards, 2023’ conducted by and Gandhi Centre for Inclusive Innovation in both the best project category and the most voted category. Their innovation MicroSentry is a sensor revolutionizing the fight against microplastic pollution in waterbodies. 🌊🌍 By providing real-time monitoring and data visualization, they are working towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

⛵🙋 Introducing the winners of this year's , delivered with RNLI!

Sea Seeds enables hobbyists like kayakers and sailors to give back to the environment by planting new seagrass while they enjoy the ocean. The eco-hobbying concept incorporates a biodegradable seed casing made from seaweed algae and crushed oyster shell to make planting more efficient. The project was developed with the coastal community in Oban, Scotland.

Guerrilla is a retrofittable device enabling roadside drains to capture particulate pollution, which would otherwise be washed into the ocean due to rainfall in cities.
Powered by gravity, Guerrilla achieves a high flow rate and high efficiency using no electricity, no moving parts, and no membrane.

Congratulation to our Alumni 2022, Diana Canghizer! She is one of the 94 Young Innovators of 2023 awarded by Innovate UK selected out of 700 applicants. Her project received full mentorship and a grant to continue the research and development of an AI hormonal & gynaecological personalised health platform for women's health. Last night's winners* of the Santander X UK Awards went to 💧Wateraware founded by our very own (GID 2022) and ( 2022)!

It is excellent to see the combined efforts of our recent grads with their unique combination of hardware, software, and people power. Ryan and Luisa started Wateraware Collective to tackle the worsening quality of water in the UKs inland waterways and are igniting a new era of environmental activism.
