Well, we're excited :)
Sneak peek of Nether410's piece that's emerging on our door in Heneage Street. It's going to be beautiful when it's finished. And if you're coming to the food art installation on Thursday evening you'll be able to catch up on progress in person. It's even better IRL.
Been on that fuzzy-wuzzys tip.. Sparrow Detail Work in Progress London, 🇬🇧 #londonstreetart
Hello and thanks for visiting our page.
It's been all change here in recent months, and the only s**ce available for hire at present is the Sewing Room, the split-level studio upstairs.
However, we are actively working on finding new s**ces in London that will expand our capacity, so keep an eye out here over the next few months for info about that.
Please note that we can only answer general questions via FB message, and cannot take bookings this way. Thanks :)
Short term work available, £8/hr
One of our clients and neighbours has a need for people both this weekend and in the lead-up to it. They need everything from lifters and shifters - you'll need strength and stamina for this one as they're moving office - to people who are handy at painting and decorating and handyman stuff.
10-12 people needed each day on Saturday and Sunday, and a couple each day tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, with work based in E1, just off Brick Lane.
If interested, please email [email protected] in the first instance with your availability and skills. And obviously, please feel free to share this with anyone you think would be up for this.
Thank you!

From Friday to Sunday this week - come and see!
Reminder of our upcoming from this - please join us for some and :)
Coming up this weekend: Friday 10th to Sunday 12th 10am - 7pm
Cocoon - presented by AL&K
This group exhibition called "Cocoon" inspired by the meaning "to cause to be isolated or protected from harsh, dangerous, or disturbing realities - insulate".
Each artist has interpreted this feeling from their own perspective:
AL&K in collaboration with Chris Dodds - Once I'm Alone
Annelaure & Krisztina are the creatives behind AL&K, a London based photographic duo. They will present a body of work depicting the 5 stages of grief. Five women have been photographed portraying each of these, presenting a collection of 25 images in total. In addition, 2 screens will be showing short films of these women depicting these stages filmed by Chris Dodds, a London based Cinematographer working in commercials, TV and art films.
Guests are invited to explore the emotions of personal loss they have experienced or be pushed to the limits of their imagination if they have not suffered a loss. Part of their aim was to remove the stigma around expressing pain and fears in public.

Alison Wallis - Dark Matter
As a hair and beauty photographer with an art background Alison uses several different inspirations in creating her work. Just as in art when using a blank canvas, in this series of images, the model is the 'canvas'. The bold heavy make up with dripping gold and glossy lips and the glossed eye lid mimicking latex, all represents the 'painted' effect as well as somewhat of a protective layer. The fact that no clothing is visible, served to enhance the make up and hair's bold and dramatic look, viewed through the glass of a lens - almost like a hidden reality, not so hidden afterall.

Gary Sobczyk - Selfi(e)sh
People have become very aware of how their physical presence is perceived, due to the assimilation of social media with standard daily behaviour. The evidence of this is the rise of 'selfie culture'. Manipulating the depiction of our physical form, is now possible and acceptable more than ever in our society. The way we communicate and behave is also influenced more than ever, by the decisions of those who provide our entertainment and information.
Gary is a Director, Photographer & Painter based in London.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS.
The Rag Factory is accepting proposals for our performance programme...
Email [email protected] for a submission packet.
DEADLINE SEPTEMBER 1 for submissions!!
We want you to put on a new work/show or performance of any kind and preview. We will not censor you! We will provide you with FREE performance s**ce and 50% of the ticketsales!
When practitioners produce pieces of new work they are regularly confronted with brick walls preventing them from showing the work unless they tick several ‘sales’ or ‘funding’ criteria.
Venues are less likely to support new work from new artists because of the venues need to generate their revenues. Unfortunately, the current ‘make money’ ideology is strangling any real creative development as only the types of shows or performers that have a track record of ticket sales, or are rich enough to buy s**ce from prime venues, are regularly programmed.
We want to support the theatre and YOU, We want the ‘theatre arts’ to blossom. We want you to have the opportunity to take risks and create new exciting pieces without the fear of going into masses of debt because of s**ce fees.

Review of Helen Foster in The Diver at The Rag Factory The Diver is a refreshing piece of theatre that tells its story well enough, whilst allowing its audiences to take away as much or as little as it wishes.
