Another great watch in the studio last week. I’ve had pleasure of photographing some Harry Winston jewellery before so great to get hold of a watch this time.

Another watch photo for the portfolio. Created for Rolex Deepsea Blacklock Edition. A tricky one to get the lighting right on this with the Matt black finish.

I never post anything other than my work, but today is an exception! If you can go to the Don McCullin exhibition at Tate Britain you will see some of the most iconic images taken through the 60’s through to the 2000’s. Way back in the late 80’s I watched a movie called Salvador directed by Oliver Stone. It follows the story of a photo journalist in El Salvador’s military dictatorship. Even at a young age after watching I said to myself I want to that as a job. It was then I started to be inspired by photographers such as Don McCullin, Robert Capa, Larry burrows, Sebastiao Salgado plus many more. After leaving school I attempted reportage photography which I loved. However I felt the long life ahead in this field was not for me so moved towards studio work. I chose the first image From 100’s on display as the man in the middle was moments earlier standing in front of Mcullin who took most of the shrapnel from a blast which also hit McCullin. The man later died from his injuries and McCullin survived. The quote in the penultimate image says everything about being a photojournalist and the life that ones leads. I wanted to add the final image as I felt two people hand in hand was such a contrast of what I had just seen. @ Tate Britain

Unusually found myself finishing early one day this week so had some time to kill waiting for my next client to arrive. I’ve had these spent rifle casings for ages and always thought they could be good props in the future. With not a huge amount of time I wanted to create something simple but powerful. @ London, United Kingdom

Putting together some old images for a pitch to a potential new eyewear client and decided that this is one of many worthy of making the cut.
