Hii, I’m Dida.

There are a few new faces around here so I thought I would do a re-introduction for those of you new here!

I started Dida Ritchie 8 years ago with a range of espadrille wedges as I couldn’t find a smart enough pair to wear to weddings and summer events that were also comfy. I wanted something I could dress up in but still be comfortable in on my feet all day. The high street was predominantly canvas & uncomfortable aand designer was out of my budget, so I set out to design my own.

Feedback was great, shoes were selling it was all exciting!

Then covid hit…and with the events my shoes were mainly worn to all cancelled - I had to change direction fast. In this time, I taught myself to sew and started making leather and suede bags. These are now made in a family run factory in Spain but I’m still teaching myself to sew, mostly clothes for myself just for fun, but also I love learning and understanding how things are made.

What’s stayed the same is why I do it. I don’t want you to have a wardrobe full for the sake of it. I’d love you to have a thoughtful one. Pieces you really wear, that make you feel good and make getting dressed easier, so you can focus on the things and moments that matter more. That’s what I design for. Pieces you can wear and use time and time again, year after year. It’s also what I love helping women with, through my content here and my styling services.

So hello to everyone who’s just found me, and thank you to those of you who’ve been here a while! As a small business, it means a lot :)
