A journey through the art of digital sound

Stack Rack is a veteran of the scene, having opened for acts such as Ace Ventura, Laughing Buddha, Scorb, Symbolic, Mandala, Tron, Nikki S, Illegal Machines, Dirty Saffi to name a few. His career spans over 15 years and he has played and headlined some of the biggest events in t

he UK, including countless parties in the Kent woodlands and the London squat party scene. Stack Rack's music is defined by powerful, driving basslines that give way to crisp percussion over beds of soaring arpeggiators and roaring acid lines; brief moments of bliss with hypnotic leads and constant references to various sub-cultures, he has unashamedly harnessed the power and style of his influences to create his own journey into psychedelic trance. He started off by attending some of the iconic woodland parties that Kent had to offer; Liquid Connective, Little Green Planet and Omniscience were thriving and offering parties for thousands of revellers! After a quick 6 months of intense DJ training with Ben Amos, Stack Rack was conceived as a solo DJ artist turning dance floors into trance floors from the moment he stepped behind the decks! After 2 seasons of attending woods parties and playing for crews such as Alternate Perception, Organised Kaos, Section 63, Omniscience and after a particularly mind bending experience at the half crescent site, Pedro decided he wanted to find out how the music was made, why it affected people as it did and how to recreate that sound for his own experiments. It all culminated in him unleashing his first studio effort in 2005 at Technophobia, one of the best trance nights that The Fridge had ever seen, alongside Ambivalent Records and LPS Records’ Scorb, RAM and NRS and local legends such as Benson, L-Bahn, Matter of Phat and Damn Right. From there he started attending all the London squat parties, playing alongside artists like Tron, Laughing Buddha, DJ Sati, Liquid Ross, Ace Ventura, Illegal Machines, Vertex, Lotus, Psymetrix, Ipcress, Hypnoise and many more. The album was a success, praised for its variety and depth in tone. Over the last few years he has retreated into his studio, making music and perfecting his sound as well as collaborating with artists such as Octognoma, Sebliminal, Etnamara, Continuem and most recently Sabretooth and Illian. Pedro is now starting to release music with the record labels that he grew up listening to, bringing this journey to it's next logical step. Already having released a couple of remixes and a solo EP, Stack Rack is poised to unleash a few more releases this coming year. This release is really quite special for me as Random is one of my earliest influences, I used to play his tracks all the time in my DJ sets.

I was stoked to learn that I was playing alongside him at Equinox Festival in North Carolina, USA in 2019. I was so pleased to meet him and find out he's such a cool dude. We discussed musical ideas, chewed the fat, smoked some trees and delved into the meaning of existence!

It is really fulfilling to be collaborating and releasing music with the legends that inspired me to make music in the first place!
