Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside 🌊  .

This week our theme is The Sea and we’re all ready at the front desk to welcome you and show you everything we have planned! 

Got other things on this week? No problem, you can book in daily. We’ve got our curriculum for the week on the front desk, so just pop by and choose the days you want.

And of course you can’t have a sea theme without water... we have a pool too!

This week’s theme was *Sports Week* yeah!!!! It was brilliant to see the children getting stuck in with a bit of healthy competition. At Poolside, everyone’s a winner, and the children were so proud to receive their medals. Group games are fantastic for building social and emotional skills, and it was amazing to watch them cheer each other on. We can definitely say they knocked it out of the park

Thank you to everyone who came this week ,  it was so lovely to see old and new faces. At Poolside we understand that every child is different, and we plan our activities to ensure there is  variety of things to do.  When your child spends a day with us, they’re given the space to explore, try new things, and express themselves. We’ve had a fantastic week and can’t believe how quickly it’s gone. Quote of the day from one of our mums: “My child would never have gone on that fairground ride ,  I can’t believe she did!” 😂 Here are some of our pictures from this week. Day 1 and day 2 of camp went swimmingly. The children swam, played in the sand . Had lunch after a game of football ,chilled with arts and crafts. We are ready for day 3 with a fun fair

Summer camp is now officially open come and join in the fun until 28th August 😎

Due to the recent heatwave, there have been at least 18 reported deaths linked to swimming in open water (BBC, 2026).
While swimming is a great way to cool off and enjoy the summer, it’s important to stay safe. Be aware of the risks, never overestimate your ability, avoid swimming alone, and only enter the water in safe, designated areas where possible.

🚨 Remember: swimming in the sea is much harder than swimming in a pool. 🌊

Follow these simple tips to help keep yourself and others safe:
• Ensure you are confident in the water. If you’re not, consider taking swimming lessons.
• Check for rip currents before swimming in the sea and avoid entering the water if conditions are unsafe.
• Swim at beaches where lifeguards are on duty whenever possible.
• Always let someone on shore know you’re entering the water, or better yet, never swim alone.
• Avoid using inflatables in the sea, as they can be blown offshore quickly by the wind.
• Enter the water slowly to reduce the risk of cold water shock.
• If you get into difficulty, try to stay calm, float on your back, and call for help if you can.
A few simple precautions can save lives. Enjoy the water this summer, but most importantly, make sure you get home safely. 💙

Is your child confident in and around water?

If not, now is the perfect time to enrol them in swimming lessons. Whether you choose us or another provider, learning to swim is one of the most important life skills a child can have.

With the holidays fast approaching, there’s no better feeling than knowing your child is more confident and prepared around water, giving you greater peace of mind while making memories together.

Most importantly, please remember that no child should ever be left unattended near water, regardless of their swimming ability or confidence. Active supervision is essential at all times.

Swimming is a skill for life – and one that could one day save a life.
