Thank you so much for your patience, and for your continued interest in Rights, Camera, Action! 14 - 25 year old Filmmaking FREE Training.

Due to some unavoidable delays in finalising work on our new venue and confirming funding, we needed to postpone the start of the programme. We’re pleased to confirm that everything is now in place and that the programme will go ahead on the revised dates below.

Please note: this application is specifically for the 7 February – 28 March 2026 cohort, as participants from this group will be considered for future progression opportunities.

What to expect
From 7 February to 28 March 2026, you will take part in documentary filmmaking programme exploring storytelling, social justice and human rights.

No previous filmmaking experience or equipment is needed, just curiosity, commitment and a willingness to collaborate. Participants will work together to explore real-world issues that matter to them, using accessible filmmaking tools and supported creative practice.

During the programme, you will:

Be introduced to industry professionals

Be considered for paid work placements and internships

Meet a BAFTA award-winning film director, who will select participants for a fully funded progression programme running from April 2026 to March 2027

Paid progression & professional opportunities
Following completion of the programme, participants will be eligible for:

• Paid creative work placements with partner organisations
• A fully funded progression opportunity (April 2026 – March 2027) to work alongside a BAFTA award-winning director, developing a short film to be submitted to awards and festivals, alongside paid internship opportunities

This pathway is designed to support young people to move from learning and experimentation into real-world creative experience, professional credits and paid work.

First session – Saturday 7 February
We’re excited to share that the very first workshop will take place at our newly refurbished House of NEON venue, offering one of the most stunning panoramic views across London, a truly inspiring setting to begin the programme.

Future sessions will also take place at The Foundry – Social Justice & Human Rights Centre, supporting participants to connect their creative work with wider conversations around rights and lived experience.

Applications are now open for the next cohort of our filmmaking programme — Rights, Camera, Action! — delivered in partnership with Equalities Work and designed and delivered with KONTEKST Collective.

This opportunity is FREE and open to young people who:

are aged 14–18, OR
up to 25 with SEND
and who live, work or study in Lambeth.
No previous filmmaking experience required — just creativity, curiosity and commitment.

About the Workshop Series
Rights, Camera, Action! introduces filmmaking as a collaborative, critical and creative process, where your voice and lived experience drive the storytelling.

You will:

Plan, film and edit short documentary films in small production teams
Explore human rights themes that matter to you
Learn ethical filmmaking, sound, editing & camera skills
Understand how film shapes truth, power & community
Develop confidence, creative agency & professional behaviour
We will provide smartphones and editing software — no equipment needed.

What You’ll Get
Hands-on training with professional filmmakers (KONTEKST Collective)

Create your own short films from idea to final edit

Your film showcased in a public exhibition

A paid work placement opportunity offered after successful completion

Portfolio pieces for college/uni/career progression

Priority access to future creative work + opportunities

Selection includes:

We will also run open-access workshops— so opportunities extend beyond this cohort.
