Food processor is gold for those days when you want to DESTROY something.

Feel like the master of fate for a change.

Combine the seemingly impossible to realise your vision.

Half mad, they say?

Nah, those old tart plums totally belong in the mix.

So does roasted garlic root veg side from two days ago, random tomato chutney, salt, water & vino.

Oh and parsley. Got to keep standards.

Watching spinach wilt in the heat feels oddly satisfying this time.

Where do you release your inner demons, when it’s been a bloody long day?

Stop distracting and disconnecting yourself as the constant go-to plaster on what ails you day in, day out.

There is always place for news and information flow, for music and podcasts, for memes and videos, for keeping busy, for friends… but believe me, there are times when silence is your best remedy.

Let’s dive gently and boldly even deeper into what is right here, right now, second after second. Let your bubble be enough for today. Enter your kitchen. With ease, grace and curiosity.

I’ll do it with you.

Let’s do this today: Try cooking in total silence today, no music or talking, and notice what thoughts arise. Can you stay present with each step?

See if you can simply observe your flow. No judgement, no expectations, no time constraints. Be open, be mindful, be kind.

Gratitude seems simple, straight-forward. It requires nothing other than you and your thought, and in return it is amongst the most potent, rewarding, empowering practices.

It lessens fear, stress and anxiety, even sadness or pain.

Today let’s tune in to what we are grateful for right here, right now, readily available to you and in you. Use your kitchen to guide and amplify the experience.

I’ll do it with you: Dedicate your cooking today to gratitude. With each ingredient, think of someone or something you’re grateful for.

Gratitude builds an emotional “buffer” for you that allows you to respond to life with greater calm and resilience. Think emotional freedom and full on YOU expression in moments both big and small ☺️

20 seconds.

Apparently most times all you have to do is be brave for 20 seconds.

If you did a single thing differently today, what could happen? Set your resistance to the side for a moment. Gave your usual excuses a timeout. Hesitated or checked yourself just a little less.

You can train for this in your kitchen.

I’ll do it with you.

Let’s do this today: Use a spice today that you don’t normally reach for. Play around with it and let curiosity lead the way. How does it change your dish?

Doing one small thing differently can have a rolling snowball effect. Be bold. Be curious. Be playful. Go for it.

You know those times when you just crave something fresh and green? Or something light? Or maybe a little sweet or salty? That’s your body speaking up, telling you exactly what it needs—even if it’s in whispers. Listening to it means being willing to say “yes” to what truly nourishes you and “no” to what doesn’t. Sometimes, those answers aren’t easy. But learning to really tune in - and follow through - is one of the kindest things we can do for ourselves.

Let your kitchen help. I’ll do the same with you.

Let’s do this today: Make it a goal to add every colour of the rainbow to your meal today. Take a second to appreciate each colour for what it brings.

As you consider all the nourishment you give your body today, see if you can do the same for your spirit. What do you need right now? What conditions or tools could you use today or this week to feel even better? To be better aligned or more activated? What would make you bright and full of colour inside-out?

So often it feels like I’ll never learn enough to realise my ideas. It’s not just FOMO, it’s the tension from the fact that I cannot stop the flow of time, expansion of knowledge or technology, and I will never ever catch up. Not even with just the bits that I need. It makes me feel so incredibly small.

And so I turn to what is right here, right now, readily available to us and in us. My kitchen is here for me, as is yours for you.

Let’s do this together today: Choose one ingredient and try to learn something new about it. Where is it grown? Why is it used in this dish?

Fun fact: This knowledge adds flavour ✨

Deeper knowing, understanding and connecting of the little things also adds flavour and depth to your big picture. Makes it more real, more yours, more “enough”. Over time, the little things will build up, will make sense, and you will be okay and beyond 😌

At times the best thing we can do is realise that the moment we are in right now is in its true nature calm. It is separate from any moments of our day that may have been demanding, agitating, hurtful. In this moment, it is just us and that which is immediately around us. There are ways to take

In your kitchen there are ways to cook up the helpful calm and even take it with you to the coming moments of the day. Let’s try it together.

A simple soup will do. Or a stew, a casserole, even a handful of veggies and protein thrown together on the pan that are no particular “dish” at all. Go on, tip out that store-bought pasta sauce into the pot. It’s perfect 😉

Let’s do this today when you cook your meal: Stir slowly and with purpose. Trace the movement of your spatula with your gaze. If you like, do the classic: trace the ♾️ sign three times and then circle around so you can get into all the edges of the pot.

Imagine the spatula stirring calm energy into your dish, infusing each bite with peace.

Your weekly mindful nudge 😉

So how are you today - really?

That's how I like to catch up with my friends, and myself, as often as I can.

There are good times to pose such an introspective question - birthdays, last days of the year, anniversaries, beginnings and endings, tax returns... 😉 That doesn't quite cut it though, does it?

On busiest of days I take the time and space to check on myself while I make a simple dinner. As I stir, spread or toss something mechanically, it's not absent-minded at all - the simple, calm, repetitive activity allows me to turn inwards and feel how my body is right now, what I'm feeling, what the circles of thoughts in my head are actually saying...

Activities like pruning the garden (it's about time), hoovering, washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, dusting, sorting clothes - all these and many more will work. Create some moments inbetween for yourself and set out on a little quest inward 😌

Let the message you hear in this video be my little mindful nudge to you 🪄

Here it goes:

"My one rule in work life: Enjoy what you do. We spend so many hours of so many days, weeks, months, years at work – it better make sense, have purpose and be worth the time, energy and our investment of self. Whatever you’re doing – are you really truly and fully in the moment? How does this world of yours that you’ve created around you, measure against the energy you send in each day? Are your ingredients just right? Do you love the flavours? The colours, textures, is this recipe you’re working on so earnestly, taking you somewhere delicious? Or could it use a tweak?“

Fall Into Flavour 🤘

Why autumn is ideal for culinary creativity

Okay, hear me out - this is the season to get a little playful and creative in the kitchen. There’s so much fresh stuff around, and it’s the perfect time to experiment and improvise. And you know what’s super easy but still feels fancy? Salads! I’m talking warm and cold salads for cosy lunches or laid-back dinners.

With all the veggies, fruits, and herbs right now, it’s like nature’s inviting us to just go for it. Throw things together, try new combos, and see what works. The best part? They’re quick, easy, and honestly, a great way to keep your mind off everything else for a bit. From chopping to mixing, to making your own dressing, it’s such a sensory experience. It really pulls you into the moment - plus, everything looks so pretty and smells amazing!

And speaking of dressings - this is where you can really have fun. You know I love a good vinaigrette, but experimenting with oils, vinegars, condiments, sauces, herbs, spices... is a game-changer. It’s such an fun way to figure out how to balance flavours and make even the simplest salad next-level. It’s a little lesson in getting the five tastes right - sweet, sour, salty, bitter, umami - but in the most delicious way.

I’ll be sharing some salad inspo soon, so keep an eye out. Or even better, pop your head into the fridge, see what's there already, and start playing with your own leftovers bits and bobs as a little fun challenge 🍁🥗

Good luck out there,
Eva x

Your weekly mindful nudge 😉

Whatever it is that will warm your heart for a moment, make space for it and honour that space.

How's your heart right now?

When you stop, actually stop for however short or long, and just are there, present. When it's just you, within your body, within your headspace, looking in the mirror.

How do you feel right now?

🫶🫶🫶

These days feel particularly open and vulnerable for me. I know I got nearly all caught up in how to be there for the rest of the world yet again, all with good intentions, and just watched myself stroll further away from what rings right and true for me, feeling ever more stretched and nervous.

It's better, warmer, calmer now. Here's what helped:

* solving one or two things rather than dealing with everything at once
* super subtle dietary changes such as: less salt, more variety of liquids, more leafy greens (great mood regulators), more fish and ferments to nurture the gut
* less stimuli in general
* less social media for less comparisson
*swifter simplified decision making - just listening to my inner compass with less inner debate around it, the first gut feeling for the win
* making anything I ate from scratch - knowing you're able to feed yourself is very reassuring
* comfort food

I hope my little mindful nudge brings some of that good energy from my corner of the world to yours 🪄

Here it goes:

"What is it about your food that lights you up? Could you bring any of it into your day? Perhaps make yourself your favourite drink as a treat. Buy that once in a while fruit and have your way with it. Learn a new recipe. Cook for your friend. Whatever it is that will warm your heart for a moment, make space for it and honour that space. From you to you.“
