Archive Iterations Series: August 31/1899
Warp ends, mohair yarn, thread, organza.

Archive Iterations is a practice based research project exploring my family history in the Yorkshire textile industry (1837–2005). Reinterpreting archive fabric swatches from the Mill’s cost books, I transform historic fabrics into sculptural forms using production offcuts from existing British manufacturers, linking heritage and contemporary textile industries.

For my latest work in the Archive Iterations series, ‘August 31/1899,’ I used warp ends collected from the textile mill, during my residency at Sunny Bank Mills in July 2025. I used these chunky stranded lengths to act as the strong vertical structure of the archival weave, which under magnification, appears to protrude from the surface of the textile. I intersected this with horizontal stitches in red, blue and black on organza which encase the chunky stranded lengths of warp, mimicking the undulating weft yarns which dart through the weave structure.

As well as observing the intricate fibres, weave structures and colour combinations which make up this textile fragment, the making process becomes a method of questioning the historical, heritage and contemporary view of the UK textile industry, further supported by my visits to existing mills and manufacturers of textiles.

This new work is on show as part of the latest exhibition titled ‘Touchlines’.

I was recently asked by Dr Martens to transform ‘The Shed’ at their Brewer Street store into a curated space celebrating the craftsmanship being the Lowell shoe. I focused on extracting the bold stitching into linear strips of leather to contrast the fluid, curved shapes on the shoe which are picked up in the draped sections of offcut leather.

I have been in residence at the Brewer St. Craft Bar where I have been continuing to work on the evolving installation. Please pop in on the 16th or 23rd March between 12-5pm to say hello and see the work.

Huge shout out to the wonderful team at JT Batchelor for welcoming me into their workshop and letting me run free on their cutting machine! This work would not have been possible without the use of their equipment.

For the past few weeks, I have been working on a major new commission from for their Brewer Street store in Soho, London. From Thursday 26th February my growing installation will be available to view, as I continue to add to it throughout March. This evolving installation has been a delight to work on, responding to different materials, tools, and processes. Dr Martens and I have a shared love of stitch, which you will see has been key to the creation of this artwork.

I will be working on the installation for the first four Mondays in March, so pop by to see me at work, and create a mini artwork for yourself!

I will share more details soon but for now, here is a peak at some of the elements hanging in my studio on a rare sunny day.

Expanding upon past work in the ‘Industrial Offcuts: Freed of London’ series, I explore the material possibilities of remnant textiles sourced from the ballet shoe factory, and saved from the making of past works. Here, tiny fragments of thread and frayed edges of fabric are quilted between sheer organza, creating a pillow-like texture.

This work, and a number of others will be on show with as part of the from today until Sunday 25th January.

Once again, thank you to for selecting my work to be part of this year’s Platform display.

This January, I am thrilled to be exhibiting at the London Art Fair for the second year running with Cavaliero Finn. My work will be shown as part of Platform 2026, a curated showcase inviting selected galleries to present work by well-known, overlooked, and emerging artists. Dr. Ferren Gipson is this year’s guest curator for Platform 2026 and has selected my work as part of her exploration of how materials, process and form can shift how we create and experience art.

I am excited to share a new limited run of one-of-a-kind monoprints, each created by hand in my studio using fabric offcuts printed onto calico and finished with hand-worked chain stitch.

Mounted on archival board, these prints continue my exploration of offcuts as traces of industry which become physical silhouettes that hold the gestures, processes, and remnants of making.

Every print is completely unique and individually signed.
