Pollinator Pathmaker Constantine Network is a cross-disciplinary research project rooted in the village of Constantine, Cornwall. Together, weโre reimagining what an artwork ๐จ can be.โ
โ
Weโre incredibly grateful to the volunteers and to the wonderful teams at Exeter and Edinburgh University who, over the past year, have cared for the living artworks and helped bring this project to life. ๐โ
โ
Analysis is now underway, and we canโt wait to share and celebrate the findings with you in the new year. ๐โ

Since last Spring ๐ธ, social scientist Dr Molly Bond has been visiting our Pollinator Pathmaker Constantine Network volunteers to hear more about their experience participating in the project. โ
โ
Now, as Autumn ๐turns to Winter โ๏ธ, Molly is revisiting participants to record their reflections about what a garden is and who it is for.โ

After a summer of monitoring pollinators ๐๐ ๐ฆ, social scientist Dr Molly Bond is revisiting participants to follow up on their experiences and reflections.โ
โ
Her aim: to hear if and how anything has changed with how they see or relate to their living artworks.โ ๐ฟ๐ผ๏ธโ

As part of the social science research aspect of the Pollinator Pathmaker Constantine Network project, volunteers were invited to create a Digital Diary by responding to six reflective prompts using words, photos, or voice recordings.โ
โ
Pictured here: a drawing by the daughter of one of our volunteers, inspired by the living artworks and one of their most essential pollinators: the bumblebee! ๐๐โ

Starting in the Spring ๐ทwhen Pollinator Pathmaker was forming roots in Constantine, social scientist Dr Molly Bond buzzed ๐ between homes to hear how participants related to their living artworks and control gardens.โ
โ
Molly joined the University of Edinburgh in 2025 as a research fellow working alongside Professor Jane Calvert on an interdisciplinary collaborative exploration of Pollinator Pathmaker.โ
โ
Now Molly is revisiting participants to record their reflections about their relationship to their artworks and their pollinator visitors. ๐ธ๐โ
