Hear from VDT collaborator Antonia Grove about the multi-layered work and the process behind creating .

"Hold Tight is my fourth collaboration as an artist for VDT. It has been a complex and honest process working with Charlotte and the team to discover what the backbone of the work is, bringing our recent experiences of the changing world and challenging arts climate we find ourselves in.

We are drawing on issues and images, both personal and political, and embracing the struggles we have with navigating what we really need or want to say in performance. The work, like the process of making it, is multi-layered. It feels like both a beginning of something new and an ending for me, as I move away from my role as performer towards facilitating and supporting other artists to communicate their ideas."

After two shows at The Place, we are heading to School of Contemporary Dance for a performance on Saturday 19 November at 7:30pm.

Sometimes being alone in a studio can feel like being on the moon… but I’m full of words gathered from my wonderfully rich research sessions and interviews, and these amazing women are keeping me company. Thanks for supporting me with space! Still surreal to be here working in my home town ⚡️

I made ‘Outside Inside’ as part of research. It looks to explore aspects of the male body and intimacy through focusing on flesh and form. Originally designed to be viewed on small screens, it was exciting to see it working as a large scale installation.

Had great session teaching embodied movement for actors with Bandofmothers last weekend, getting them into movement as they begin to go back to work on the stage/screen etc.
