3 things we repaired last week

It was a busy week at the workshop. Adam dealt with three devices that were clearly having a bad time:

1. A professional drone: Crashed during a flight. The gimbal mechanism was jammed, and one of the arms needed recalibration. It’s back in the air now.

2. MacBook Pro : A screen flickering issue caused by a loose ribbon cable. Re-seated, tested and back to full performance.

3. MacBook Air : Liquid damage. It wasn't a total loss, but it required precise board cleaning to prevent future corrosion.

We don’t believe in "planned obsolescence." If it’s broken, it’s usually worth a look before buying a new one.

This MacBook came in with a keyboard that suddenly stopped responding.

Before replacing anything, Adam stripped the laptop down to properly diagnose the issue and find the real cause behind the failure.

Sometimes it’s the keyboard itself. Sometimes the problem goes deeper into the board.

We specialise in MacBook repairs, advanced diagnostics, and board-level repairs, alongside phones, laptops, tablets, consoles, and more.

Next step: repair or replacement, followed by full testing before it goes back to the customer.

Some Repairs Happen Under the Microscope Long Before the Phone Powers Back On.

This one needed work directly on the motherboard after developing faults that couldn’t be traced to a simple part replacement. Slow diagnostics and a lot of patience at the bench.

A side of phone repairs most people never get to see.

How We Diagnose Devices That Won’t Turn On.

A dead device is rarely actually "dead". Usually, it’s just one tiny component on the motherboard that has given up.

We use thermal cameras to find heat spots and multimeters to check power rails.

Sometimes the culprit is a capacitor smaller than a grain of rice. Replacing that single part is what we do daily.

It’s the difference between a £70 repair and a £800 new laptop.
If your tech has stopped responding, bring it to us in Wimbledon or Victoria. We’ll find out exactly why.

“The Most Delicate Repair We Perform”

Some device problems go far beyond a simple part replacement. In certain cases, the fault lies deep on the motherboard, where tiny components control the entire device.
Using microscopes and specialised microsoldering equipment, our technicians carefully repair components often smaller than a grain of rice.

It’s slow, precise work. But when a device that seemed beyond repair comes back to life, it’s worth it.

Putting Your Phone in Rice? Read This First.

Most people think putting a wet phone in rice will fix it.
Unfortunately, that’s a myth.
Rice might absorb some surface moisture, but it does nothing for the liquid already inside the device.
Meanwhile corrosion continues to spread across the motherboard.

What actually helps:
1. Turn the phone off immediately
2. Do NOT charge it
3. Bring it to a repair specialist as soon as possible

With professional cleaning and diagnostics, water-damaged devices can often be saved.
The sooner it’s treated, the higher the chances of recovery.
