Today marks 81 years since VE Day — the moment World War II ended in Europe on 8 May 1945.

We remember the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the generation who lived through war and helped rebuild peace.

Little known fact: on VE Day, Big Ben had been largely silent during the war years to avoid aiding enemy aircraft navigation — but it rang out across London again to mark victory and celebration. 🇬🇧
