Big shout out to everyone who joined today’s Fear to Flight handstand workshop! 🙌

It was genuinely such a pleasure to spend the afternoon playing with you all. You brought such curious, joyful energy from the very start and jumped straight into supporting and encouraging one another. Watching your confidence grow and your movement evolve in such a short space of time was incredible.

One of my favourite moments was hearing everyone chatting, sharing experiences, and celebrating each other’s wins by the end of the session. It felt so wholesome and exactly the kind of environment I hope to create.

The idea behind this workshop is exploring fear—or more specifically, our brain’s perception of what feels safe.

In my experience, confidence grows through a few key things:
✨ Gentle, repeated exposure. The more time you spend upside down, the more evidence your brain gathers that it’s capable and safe.

✨ Building movement pathways and muscle memory. Sometimes the difference between finding a balance and missing it is simply giving your body enough repetition to respond without hesitation.

✨ Learning how to fall safely. When we remove some of the uncertainty, we create space to play, explore, and progress.

And perhaps most importantly: keeping it playful. The more pressure and expectation we place on ourselves, the heavier the practice can feel.

Did the fear-to-flight concept land for you? What was your biggest takeaway? And if I ran a follow-up workshop, would you be in? 👀👇

Freelance yoga life update 🧘‍♀️✨

If you’ve been here a while, you’ll know… this is not my first schedule reshuffle 😂
(Second time in 6 months, but who’s counting)
The reality of freelance teaching?
It’s always evolving.
Classes move.
Timetables shift based on what’s sustainable.
And somewhere in the middle of that… you try to build a routine 😅
The last few months have been a bit of a juggle —
classes moving, others pausing, and me doing the classic freelance thing of saying yes to everything…
Only to realise I’d accidentally removed my day off again 🙃
So, a little reset was needed.

As much as I genuinely hate letting go of classes (because the communities we build in those spaces are the best part of this job 💛),
I also know I need to create a schedule that’s sustainable.
The exciting part?
New training = new classes.
I’ve been diving deeper into mobility work and sound, and excited to bring more of that into classes very soon ✨
Change is part of this lifestyle, even when it’s inconvenient, even when it’s a bit emotional.

Thank you for being part of it, wherever you practice with me.

Fear doesn’t always look like panic.
Sometimes, it’s subtle… and easy to miss.

It can show up as:
• your body blocking a movement
• sudden “over-corrections” (the sudden leg switch or panic straddle are my personal faves see slide2👀)
• holding your breath + under committing

And it’s not just handstands, this can show up in all inversions.
If you can do it with a wall or a spotter, but freeze in the middle of the room…
there’s likely an element of fear holding you back.

Fear. That can be a lack of trust in our strength or ability.

The good news? Fear isn’t something you “get rid of”,
it’s something you build confidence around over time.

Through exposure.
Through repetition.
Through a bit of playful curiosity.

• learning how to fall safely
• trusting you can support your own weight
• spending time in the position (again and again)
• exploring instead of forcing

Because progress doesn’t come from fighting fear…
it comes from showing your body it’s safe to be there.

And honestly, I still feel it too. It might not look as chaotic as it used to but it’s there (slide 2 you see me chuckle at the realisation I’m scared and under committing/ switching legs).

The difference now is I recognise what it looks like,
and I have the tools to work with it.
I come back to my drills, remind my body that I’m safe, and keep showing up. ( Slide3 all serious as I try to do the things that feels scary)

That’s what allows progress to happen.

if you’re wondering something in a pose…
someone else probably is too.

And yes in a flow class as some people have said it can break the flow but there are always opportunities when the flow slows where rest is offered or time to deepen a pose where questions can be asked.

Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart!

Admittedly, I’m a bit of a grinch but I have so much gratitude to the wonderful communities across the many studies. Thank you for sharing your practice, your energy, the highs and the lows of this year. Couldn’t have gotten through it without the support from each of you!

How ever you are spending the holidays I hope you find some down time to rest from and digest the year!

Looking forward to seeing you on the mat in the new year.
