Back in my happy place as you can see!
Glorious couple of days recording with the wonderful and talented ! SEVERAL guitar tracks, 😅 all the guitar pedals were present, bass and we even squeezed in a bit of “de iron” (percussion instrument from TT🇹🇹) always thrilling to get Trinidadian percussion on my tracks for that authentic feel even though I’m no percussionist! 😅

This World AIDS Day I would like to highlight someone who is rarely mentioned, even though she was one of the first publicly known women to die of the disease. A pioneer in many ways Gia Carangi was also one of the world’s first ever “Supermodels”.
She died at 26 of Aids related illnesses but is often left out of the tributes and montages of those we lost. Even in Sapphic circles and conversations she is almost never celebrated as a d**e icon. An out q***r woman in fashion in the early 80s! We have been terribly remiss!
If you haven’t seen the biopic of her life starring Angelina Jolie you simply must! Angie’s best work in my very non expert opinion. An extremely important film to me in my formative years growing up in Trinidad. There was no Netflix, kids!😅 With its endless q***r representation that we are so lucky to have now. Give thanks…
I’ve always felt drawn to her energetically and protective of her memory even though I obviously did not know her. A sort of kindred spirit whose path I never crossed in this dimension. Why am I tearing up writing this? 😭
Anyway, I just wanted to honour her on this day especially. I hope she is having a bloody ball wherever she is!
