Weβre so excited to share that the incredible Alvaro is taking on another huge challenge for The Maypole Project β starting next week on 27th May 2026! ππββοΈ
This time, Alvaro will be running an astonishing 900km (560 miles) from Bristol all the way to Madrid β self-supported and mostly off road β pulling a trailer carrying all of his kit, food and essentials along the way.
Starting from his home base in the UK and finishing in Majadahonda, Madrid, where he grew up, Alvaro hopes to complete the challenge in just 12 days, averaging an incredible 75km (47 miles) every single day! πͺ
To make things even more exciting, Alvaro will be sharing a live GPS tracker throughout the challenge so people can follow his progress along the route in real time π
And if youβre a runner local to any of the areas heβll be passing through, youβre more than welcome to join him for part of the journey and cheer him on along the way! πββοΈπββοΈ
Alvaro is raising funds for The Maypole Project, helping us continue supporting children with complex medical needs and their families for as long as they need us. Every donation will make a real difference to the families we support.
Thank you so much, Alvaro, for your determination, generosity and support β we are so grateful! π
