🌿 A huge thank you to the brilliant team from Calfordseaden Orpington! 💚

Last week, a fantastic group from their team spent an afternoon volunteering at The Maypole Project office, getting stuck into 'Project Garden' and making a HUGE difference!

Our garden and entrance had become rather overgrown over the summer, so the team tackled the weeds, cut back bushes and plants, cleared the space, and helped us identify areas that need some extra attention. They even sanitised lots of boxes of toys used in our play therapy sessions! 🧸✨

We’re hoping to transform our garden into an additional sensory space, connecting with our sensory cabin. We’ve applied for funding for new decking to make the area safe and accessible, and this tidy-up brings us one step closer to making those plans a reality. 🌱

On Tuesday 25 August, representatives from The Maypole Project were honoured to attend Bromley Civic Centre for a very special cheque presentation.

During his mayoral year 2025-26, Councillor Jonathan Andrews, alongside Theresa Andrews, chose The Maypole Project as one of his nominated charities. Throughout the year, a series of fantastic fundraising events were held, raising funds for children and young people with complex medical needs and their families.

We were delighted to receive a cheque for £15,645.42, which as well as additional direct donations made through Just Giving and a generous donation from the Parish of Pratts Bottom and Green Street Green brings the total raised to an amazing £17,752.98, an incredible amount that will help us continue providing vital support, therapy services and activities to families across our community.

This remarkable donation will help us continue making a real difference to the lives of children and young people with complex medical needs and the families who love and care for them.

Whilst Councillor Jonathan Andrews' mayoral term has now come to an end, we remain enormously grateful for the commitment, enthusiasm and support shown throughout the year. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to both Councillor Jonathan Andrews and Theresa Andrews for championing The Maypole Project and helping us raise awareness of our work 💜

🐾 Happy International Dog Day! 🐾

Today we’re celebrating some of the furry friends who are regular visitors to The Maypole Project office! 🐶❤️

We all know how much joy our dogs bring us, but they can also be a huge source of comfort, companionship and support when times are tough. Whether it’s a wagging tail, a reassuring cuddle or simply having a four-legged friend by your side, dogs can do wonders for our mental health and help keep our spirits high.

We absolutely love the energy, fun and positivity they bring to the office whenever they visit! 🐕✨

We’re looking for corporate volunteers to join us at The Maypole Project for some hands-on volunteering! 💜

We currently have two opportunities for teams to get involved:

🌳🪴🌻 PROJECT GARDEN
Our garden has seen lots of overgrowth over the summer, and we’re planning to transform it into an additional sensory space alongside our sensory cabin.

We’re looking for teams to help us:
🌿 Cut back overgrown plants and bushes
🌱 Tackle weeds
🪴 Tidy and clear the space
🔎 Highlight areas needing further attention

We’ve applied for funding to get brand new decking to ensure the area is safe and accessible, and your help to spruce and tidy will get us one step closer to creating this fantastic space!

🫧🧴 SUPER SANITISERS
We’re also looking for teams to help with a quarterly deep clean of our therapy spaces.

We regularly clean our toys and resources, but a full sanitisation is a big job that needs lots of hands. It’s vital in helping us keep our therapy spaces safe for the children and young people we support, many of whom have lowered immunity.

Wednesday afternoons.

We’ll provide the essentials to keep you going — tea, coffee and biscuits! ☕🍪 — and would love to show you around our spaces and introduce you to our team.
