One of the most memorable experiences in Chile’s Lake District is waking up to the scenery surrounding the city of Puerto Varas: the calm waters of the lake, the snow-capped Osorno volcano, and the fresh mountain air that you can only find in a truly unspoiled place.
From there, you can explore Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, go kayaking on Lake Llanquihue, and take scenic drives through the forests to Petrohué Falls, where the bright turquoise water seems almost unreal.
If this is the kind of place you’d like to visit, check out our travel guide to Chile’s Lake District here: https://www.latinroutes.co.uk/inspiration/chilean-lake-district-travel-guide

Chile’s wine regions are about so much more than just the wine… Think cycling through sun-drenched vineyards, horse riding beneath the Andes, long vineyard lunches with incredible views, and afternoons spent tasting world-class wines straight from the source.
Whether it’s the bold reds of Colchagua Valley or the crisp whites of Casablanca, every region has its own charm, but a velvety Chilean Carménère might just be our favourite.
If you could spend a day in the Chilean wine regions, what would be first on your list?

With London melting at 34°C, we’d much rather be waking up to turquoise waters and Caribbean breezes at Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya and Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres. 🌴☀️
Our team recently experienced both resorts on a fam trip, and what really stood out was how effortlessly relaxing they feel. Think lazy mornings by huge infinity pools, ice-cold cocktails delivered to your sunbed, warm sea air, and evenings spent dining under the stars.
Secrets Akumal is perfect for those wanting a more intimate, tropical feel, with calm waters, stunning beachfront suites, and even the chance to snorkel with sea turtles straight from the beach. Secrets Playa Blanca offers a more modern, secluded escape, with beautifully designed spaces, incredible dining, and a quieter atmosphere away from the crowds.
We'd like to thank Alice Otton and both resorts for the great hospitality!
