Unmount EBS Volume from existing EC2 instance
Detach EBS Volume from EC2 instance
Attach EBS Volume to new EC2 instance
Mount EBS volume to a folder in new EC2 instance

Create EBS Volume
Attach EBS Volume to an EC2 instance in same Availability zone.
Connect to EC2.
List the drives attached to EC2 – lsblk –f
Create filesystem in the new EBS volume mkfs -t xfs /dev/xvdf
Make Directory in EC2
Mount the EBS Volume in the new Directory mount /dev/xvdf EBS-DIRECTORY
Create files in mounted directory EBS-DIRECTORY to verify
