Fun to have one of our projects featured in The Guardian today - in print and online. You can read the online article via link in our bio (or Google Edwards Rensen Architects Guardian newspaper). Or buy a copy today!

Many thanks to our wonderful clients, builders , engineers , glazing suppliers , garden designer .buckley1, our client's interior designer and her photographer and everyone else who worked hard on this together.

A Spanish design and architecture magazine asked if they could feature this - one of our smallest projects in Hackney. Naturally we said, "¡Sí!"

I can't read Spanish (just Dutch and Italian), but I presume it's generally complimentary.

I couldn't get the carousel function working, so here's another photo from Grand Designs Live.

We're in The Times newspaper today.

Our application for bespoke timber double glazed sash windows was refused by Islington planners.

They would have allowed it if we had downgraded the spec, but that would have achieved less than half the thermal upgrade (and cost twice as much).

They wanted us to make our replacement windows thinner. We argue that the visual difference is indistinguishable.

We've gone to appeal.
The appeal is due to be decided by the national planning inspectorate in the next few weeks.
Even if we lose, at least we will have achieved clarity.
We shall see!

(Rotter)Dam Deuren. I left out the one we were nearly arrested for photographing 😬. Apologies for the photo quality - it was incredibly windy!

Now on! Brilliant exhibition in Kings Cross by my friend Iris de Kievit from Rotterdam, our ceramicist client , and

I am so proud of them. It's a great project - drawing attention to air pollution in an original and beautiful way.

It's free. It's in the entrance space of Central st Martin's School of Art. If you want to go to the rest of the ceramics fair beyond, you need to book tickets, but their part you can just wander into - then go on to enjoy the restaurants, art and atmosphere of Granary Square.

If you go, please say Hi to Iris &/or Jo from me!

Het HAKA Gebouw in Rotterdam. A quick Google reveals all sorts of interesting things happen in its large, light spaces.

Green roof, skylight, solar panel and a view over the rooftops of Highbury.

This photo was taken in autumn, so the flowering sedum plants look a little brown, but they will green up and flower again (scroll to see summer photo). Within days of being installed it had bumble bees buzzing abound enjoying it.

We rebuilt this roof to make a good angle for the solar panel - and to give height to the low bathroom below.

These hexagonal niches in hexagonal tiles were not easy to get right, it took a couple of attempts in different materials, but I think they work well now.
