We recognize that the rights of millions of people are abused all over the world and we believe that people have the right to be informed and protected.
Think Know Act Initiative (TKA) is a human rights organisation formed around three premises; to get people to reflect on the happenings in their communities; know the rights accorded to them and; build activism against the violation of those rights. The protection of human rights should be everybody’s concern and the vast opportunity exists for all to actively participate in protecting it. TKA bel
ieves that the global human rights issues we face today are interconnected across the globe between countries e.g. human trafficking etc. Thus, making reasonable positive impact requires creating linkages between countries in addressing our key areas of work. To enable these linkages, we work with organisations in different parts of Africa, Europe and the North America. Specifically, we have established connections with organisations in countries like Nigeria, United Kingdom, Canada, Rwanda, Angola, Mozambique, Ghana, Guinea Bissau and Senegal. We intend to especially engage the diaspora communities in developed countries in addressing specific issues pertinent to their home countries but linked to their countries of migration. We believe that the diaspora communities have a role to play in their home countries and in their present communities if we create the opportunity for that to flourish. WHAT WE DO
Our projects will focus on three thematic areas
• Ending Violence against women
• Human rights education
• Anti-human trafficking
