- What makes each step in the life cycle successful
- What does sustainability mean

3 questions that a team needs to answer to avoid building complex features that the users don’t want:⁣

1. Are the specifications clear?⁣

Most times, a feature takes a long time to build and creates frustrations in the team because the specifications are not clear. This creates bottlenecks and friction between UX/BA/Dev/QA.⁣

2. Have the specifications been defined based on user research?⁣

User research will highlight the whys and hows of building the specific feature.⁣

3. How long is it going to take to be built? Has the feature been reduced to the minimum needed to release and test in real life ASAP?⁣

Users might say something in user research, but it turns out not to be true in real life. That is why building the minimum viable feature and releasing it as soon as possible is still essential.⁣

#2021 ❤

I haven’t posted on the grid in a while, so I'm kick-starting it with a quote. Have a lovely weekend! 🌞

22/04/2021

This year I choose to by buying less stuff, by being mindful of everything that I do buy, by supporting local and green businesses, by eating seasonal and local food, by eating less animal and more plant-based products, by picking up litter with every single walk in my local area and park, by participating in tree planting and coastal cleanup projects, by actively influencing local policies and by voting for politicians with a green plan. Last but not least, I will be taking care of myself because what is good for me is also good for the planet.❤️⁣🌍

Happy ! I hope that you get inspired today to . 🙌

Have a beautiful weekend. 🌞

Sustainability small steps: solid soaps

They are a great alternative to lots of different things like liquid hand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and face wash.

A RÉDUIT Poll from 2020 showed that people use about 24 of each of these products during a year. That is 120 plastic bottles per year, 8640 during a single person’s lifetime! Most of the plastic these products normally come in is not recyclable.

I made the swaps to solid soaps about a year ago and was really surprised about how well they work on my fussy hair and skin. Wrote a bit about it then. The face wash, hair conditioner and volume shampoo that I use are from Ethique. The soap containers are also from them and they are plastic-free. I also use the EarthKind shampoo after I work out because it’s softer on the hair & scalp and works nicely as a daily shampoo. With the hand and body wash you can just experiment forever! I usually get them from Holland & Barrett. LUSH UK has really fun ones as well. Also, there are so many people that make hand made ones, so there are plenty to choose from.

Have a beautiful and relaxing Sunday! 🌞

Quote I’m pondering this Friday evening.

“There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy” - Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra

Hope you have a beautiful weekend. 🌞
