Is it cool or what?
This cute project came out of other project- I was desperate to bring back orange colour to the collection and really wanted to make Swivel bowl in that.
To achieve the vivid orange shade I used Parian porcelain as a base instead of my regular porcelain mix. And this porcelain does not give in easily to casting even slightly more complex shapes.
Drop-out mould shapes like slanted cup works perfectly, so that was my answer what to make in orange Parian porcelain.
So I came up with a slogan “when life gives you oranges, make smiley cups” and created a version of a classic: winky cup.
Contrast and the whole design after final firing really surprised me. I love it! I hope you will too.

Why make something that already exists?
Designing this cup shape was existing yet challenging- constant research and sketching of something functional and not seen before. But eventually you have to stop, and I’ve settled on a Handle design.
This particular silhouette was interesting because I saw an opportunity to be a “real” designer and adopt the shape through various sizes.
Making it was a next challenge. I’ve started with a solid cast mould which was unsuccessful. Then revised certain shape elements and made hybrid mould- handle part casts solid while the main volume casts hollow. All in the same mould.
Production involves making a special setting tile that brings two volumes together during final firing when the clay shrinks the most. A final step and a necessary trickery to prevent the cup shape from extreme warping.
I’ve selected 4 key colours for these cups: chalk, sand, umber and bark. Natural shades that can match many spaces.
And just a note on that: don’t see the colour you like? Send me a message and we can have a chat about what’s available and how I can help you.

Scent and shape comes together as a small sculpture.
Inspired by architectural shapes and with an ambition to create a “single” object, this scent diffuser is the result of this concept.
I’ve probably spent way too much time sketching and prototyping this object, but I really wanted it to be a unique design. Why create and make something that exists?
I see design through a personal experience and lens- I create what I would like to have. My only wish that other people will connect to that as well.

Objects don’t usually respond to you.
A bowl that moves with you.
The Swivel Bowl explores how a simple vessel can become interactive through geometry.
This one does.

Most vessels are designed to hold things.
This one is designed to hold attention.

The Chalice Bowl reinterprets a familiar archetype through sculptural form and negative space.

The part of the process that brings my ideas to life… is also the one that stresses me out the most.
I always had a love-hate relationship with plaster work.
Mould making literally enables my vision to become a reality, and I find mould making an interesting activity which requires a separate knowledge.
And the working aspects of plaster just freaks me out- soaking and mixing time before casting, bubbles in the mix, mixing technique in itself, mixing paddle size versus bucket size and what volume is prepared… IT’S A LOT OF STRESS to get all the steps a right.
Not always it’s a success, sometimes it’s a throw away job and back to square one.
I don’t think I’m the best mould maker yet. Shape creator and maker- yes, but plaster work could improve.
When I start working on a new project I start to dread moulding making stage. And at the same time it gets me very excited because it’s the last step away from making the piece in clay.
I’ll work on my perceived notion about stress, and practicality improve my skills as I go. It’s all a process.

I’ve never been interested in making ordinary objects — even when that would have been easier.
At the end of last year I was rushing to relaunch the collection- same objects with refined focus on colours and presentation. The amount of work was insane: from testing new pigmentation recipes and mixing new glaze, to photographing everything in different settings to showcase each piece the way it deserves and showcasing whole vision the way I intended.
With the time off studio work I had time to reflect, rethink and piece it together- was was the original idea and direction for autotelic objects, what did I set out to do. What made me excited and happy creating and making?
There’s always things left to be finished or improved and this work will probably never end. This is my inner view expression to the world, for you experience as well. This is how I chose to communicate and connect- through creativity.
I’ve rushed in to this year clear minded and charged to make more exciting and…ammm…bigger things! Cover new categories as well, make tableware set, more vases and objects for the home.
I can’t wait to tell my stories about what happened in 2025, how it all came to a stop and what motivated me to change my mind and continue with Autotelic Objects. For this I’m looking forward to releasing a long(er) format video on YouTube. I hope it will be an amazing extension to what I do now and will be able to let you in on more topics and themes around my creativity and business.
This and other projects coming your way soon.

Returning to photography was a thrilling rediscovery — a chance to create moods through light, form, and different hues of porcelain.
I set out to shape a shopping experience that stimulates the senses and invites an appreciation for the individuality of each pottery design.
