Different outfit, same bag ❤️

Fun fact: if you have the origami bag pattern you can also use it to make the viral knot bag (it really does only take 20 mins!). Made this up from the large size in one of those last minute midnight sews before a weekend away 💕
Sewn in black satin (which isn’t my fave to work with) but I had it in my stash and meant it also was able to fold up so small for hand luggage. Came in so handy for carrying bottles of water, sun cream, books and a current knitting project whilst mooching around Barcelona ❤️

Lace bag making with the Staple Sling patterns 🤍

The little & large Staple Sling in vintage lace 🤍
Found both pieces in thrift stores (but Etsy and eBay are also good sources). Cut two pieces of fabric (instead of 2 x shell and 2 x lining), French seamed the sides (first row of stitching was zig zag as it helped keep the lace together) and used bias binding around the handles 🫶 and have enough lace over to make a skirt for summer :)

Made the large staple sling in lace and took it to market 🤍
French seamed hems, bias binding around the handles and took less time than the lace shopper ✨
The best type of sewing imo 🫶✨

Fun fact: lace bags are the perfect spring bag 🤍 for fitting easily into hand luggage, carrying a coat when it gets warm and the perfect bag to attend a wedding ✨
Journal post on how I hacked the Shopper pattern and used a vintage curtain to make this bag is up on the website > The Sewing Room > Journal xx
