反修例運動六年前夕，一群由海外港人組成的團體「香港行動文獻庫」合力籌辦以物品、記憶與口述歷史為題的展覽，旨在連繫海外港人與當地市民，展品包括歷年香港社會運動的文宣、被催淚彈打破的頭盔、盛載香港味道的蝦乾、回憶香港地方的短片等，「記憶對視」首展設在倫敦，為期一周的展覽有逾 1,300 人參與，當中近四成為當地外籍人士；展覽最後一天的新書發佈會約有 60 人出席，有參與者盛讚展覽中的互動地圖方式新穎且互動性強，觀察到不同人以匿名方式分享經歷讓她大受感動，策展人劉芷寧認為展覽的重點是以各種記憶方式，啟發大家實踐自身的能動性（Agency），「沒有東西能取代你自己，去記住自己的記憶，用自己的方法書寫記憶」。《半世紀的抗爭：香港2019年社運口述史》 編委之一的黎恩灝，認為出版口述歷史書籍屬一場去中心化的「社會實驗」，「我們先想尋覓各種留下記憶與歷史的可能性，其次是想『拋磚引玉』，讓身處世界各地的離散港人社群，如台灣、日本、澳洲、美國等，也能自發舉辦各種形式的香港社運記憶紀錄。」
